Through the wire, like most people.. fell in love with the production, College Dropout is still my favorite album of his. I like the original, un-mastered version of the song as well.

@Sephiroth it was a rocafella song and dame dash introduces him, its called the champions, in the beginning dame is sayin some s--- like i got a producer that raps better than half the game, g.d. kanye! then kanye is first to rap in the song. its from 02 as well but i dono if it came before that mixtape or not, but im pretty sure its the first time he was marketed as a rapper... i posted the song on page 2

Through The Wire in the early fall of 2003. People forget how big Kanye was that winter. I remember going to the gym one day around Christmas time and MTV was on. My buddy and I were laughing at the fact they played the videos for Through The Wire and Slow Jamz 3 or 4 times a piece in a 90 minute time period.

People often talk about how big 50 Cent was in the of 2003 but I think an argument can be made that Kanye was just as big that winter.

In middle school one of my friend's parents wouldn't let him use iTunes so he would give me money to buy him songs. I specifically remember buying Slow Jamz for him and burning it on a CD with a bunch of other songs (like 50 Cent and Nelly and Chingy and other s--- that was popular at the time), so that was definitely the first song I heard from 'Ye.
