Aug 27, 2015 The first image of Michael Fassbender as the lead in theAssassin’s Creed movie has been released. While the movie is based on Ubisoft’s popular video game series of the same name, Fassbender will play a brand new character, Callum Lynch, rather than any of the games’ previous protagonists. Sorry Ezio fans. Yahoo, who first revealed the photo, says that Lynch is a new character being introduced into “the same world” as the video games. This may be read as confirming that the film is canon within the videogame series. ComicBook.com is reaching out to Ubisoft and those involved with the film for clarification. While a different character, Lynch shares traits with the game series’ protagonists. He is a descendent of the Assassins society and has unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the lifeof his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15thCentury Spain. Learning from his predecessor’s experience, he takes the fight to the Knights Templar in the modern era. Assassin’s Creed also stars Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises), Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years a Slave), and Ariane Labed (Before Midnight). Production begins on Monday, Aug. 31. Assassin’s Creed opens in theaters Dec. 21, 2016. http://comicbook.com/2015/08/27/first-look-at-michael-fassbender-in-assassins-creed/#Image1
Aug 27, 2015 Chad Warden has seen some abysmal movies based on games. Chad Daddy saw Max Payne with Mark Wahlberg, absolute trash. Chad Daddy saw the Hitman movie, absolute trash. Chad Warden hopes that they make a decent movie, but still thinks it's unnecessary - video games are a great platform to tell a story.
Aug 28, 2015 Interesting. It's a good story and Fassbender is phenomenal, so this has a lot of potential.
Aug 31, 2015 I seriously can't wait for this movie! I've been a huge fan on AC ever since the second game was released and I was hoping for a movie for so long until they finally announced it! My expectations are very high so you better not mess this up Ubisoft!
