Jun 6, 2015 20th Century Fox and Ubisoft Motion Pictures' Assassin’s Creed movie stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard (Alicia Vikander is also rumoured to be in talks). The film, to be directed by Justin Kurzel, is scheduled to start shooting this August for a December 21th, 2016 release.Assassin's Creed is being co-financed by RatPac and Alpha Pictures. Jun 6, 2015 Movies based on Video Games never have a good track record, but I'm certain this will be the one to break the trend.
Jun 6, 2015 The director on board looks promising and has worked with Fassbender before. It's the 2/3 s--- studio screenplay writers on board that bother me.
Jun 6, 2015 From what I read a while back Ubisoft Studios has the full go ahead with what they want and don't want. There's a huge risk of it being a failure given that Fox is involved, but I think Ubisoft will tone down a lot of what they don't want. This was made a few years ago that takes place before and leads directly into Assassins Creed 2. Imagine what the movie will be like on a bigger budget with Ubisoft involved.
Jun 7, 2015 Hopefully they can make something good of this. The video game series has been so hit and miss recently.
Jun 7, 2015 The trailer for Kurzel and Fassbender's Macbeth looks pretty incredible visually, so this should at least have that and the cast going for it, presuming everyone stays on board.
Jun 7, 2015 Been a fan of Macbeth since English class in my school days so this movie is a must see for me.
