Saw Molly's game and wanna give a big f u to Sorkin for making me re-live the Canucks game 7 loss. Barely remember what happened afterwards. James Joyce was referenced or something.
Also watched Menashe the other day. Almost criminally under seen. Very moving. Should be on more 2017 lists -

I went to high school(he was 4 years older but we had a real good film program at our school so anyone who took film knew each other) at the same time as the director of Luk'Luk'l. Might even have some of his old s--- on year end DVDs. I'm excited to see the film
Side note: it is weird to me that he's like got a new last name and s--- cuz there's no way in a zillion years you would know he was native. But that's just me being salty because I was one of like 20 (we had exchange students that would come in and out) not visibly white kids(I'm native) at the school. But I'm proud that someone is pushin native film and it's someone I know.FilmAndWhisky, Twan and Vahn like this. -

Speaking of human feces, Harry Knowles, I apologize in advance for sharing this, but his review of Blade 2 is quite possibly the worst thing ever written. While reading it, I popped a blood vessel from cringing. NSFW.

On a lighter note,
VIFF 17 about to start. I'll be providing coverage for Next Projection since I'm not working for the festival this year. I'll be able to spend my time actually watching films (like in 14/15)
I have 53 films scheduled, but I also hold a full time job. Let's see what happens.
Guaranteed, I'll be seeing the new Kiarostami, Sangsoo, Varda, Haynes, Haneke, Kaurismaki, Trier, Zvyagnitzev, Maddin, Ostlund, Perry, Baker, Lanthimos... and the rest is a bonus.
