One day I'll go to Cannes!

I never thought i'd like so much a musical as i love Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, Amazing set decoration, editing and photography, the camera felt so fluid i got into it really quick, the whole film is sung and yet it provides such a rich and deep dialogue it amazes me. Not that i've seen many musicals but i'd take this over Singing in the Rain or The Band Wagon anyday. 9/10

I'm not super-hyped for it but I think Tomorrowland might surprise me. Most everything Bird's done has been great, and he could very well pull off something amazing.

@CharlieWork Liked your previous question and response, but don't have the time yet for a thoughtful response :emoji_slight_frown:

Movies on my radar for May:
    May 1
    - Avengers: Age of Ultron (Joss Whedon), Far from the Maddening Crowd (Thomas Vinterberg), Welcome to Me (Shira Piven), Far from Men (David Oelhoffen)
May 15- Mad Max: Fury Road (George Miller), Pitch Perfect 2 (Elizabeth Banks), Slow West (John Maclean), Good k--- (Andrew Niccol)
    May 22- Tomorrowland (Brad Bird)
May 29- Results (Andrew Bujalski), Heaven Knows What (Safdie Brothers)

Though I'm amped for Mad Max, I'm only mildly interested in most of the others.

Cannes lineup is out tomorrow! Coen brothers are the heads of the jury this year.

On another note, my cousin wrote/directed a short horror film and put it up on youtube. I was on set for a little bit and am listed in the credits. If you guys are bored and have 16 minutes to k---, any views would be appreciated (Please be nice :emoji_wink:)

Kanye West is in the motherland (my motherland, Armenia)!

I also saw Ryan Gosling yesterday -- a brief glimpse as we walked by near us, but I was in his presence, nonetheless.

Yep, it was only for 10 days, but I'm back now. It was just as cool as Brendan Gleeson would lead you to believe.

Just found out that my local theater which plays nothing will be showing 2001 and The Godfather for one of my friend's 12th grade film classes over the next two weeks.

My initial guess was to maybe use IMDb keywords but those results were disappointing. :emoji_slight_frown:

Inspired by The Guard and Calvary, I'm headed to Ireland next week so I'll post this a little early...Movies on my radar for April:

April 1-4 - Ned Rifle (Hal Hartley)
April 8-10 - Clouds of Sils Maria (Olivier Assayas), Ex Machina (Alex Garland)
    April 17- Tangerines (Zaza Urushadze)

Not really much out, but Asghar Farhadi's About Elly, which I hear is awesome, is getting an NYC release in April so I hope to check that out as well.

I've never been a big fan, but Michael Koresky argues eloquently in praise of Tarantino's Death Proof. It's long but worth a read.

soooo. Doesn't make the premise of the project any less unnecessary? McKay is capable - Anchorman 2 s----d. Spielberg is capable - Indy 4 s----d. etc.

Anyway, my dear friends... I wrote this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-hoglund-/what-to-do-with-rene-russo_b_6761530.html

    Please enjoy. @Twan @Bleed
