Just doing it as a personal project. It's about a guy who has suffered a great loss in his life and he's feeling disconnected from the world around him. I'm really just trying to explore that mindset and see how the character reacts to different situations of attempting to reconnect to society.

I didn't realize Villeneuve had anything in the works besides that Blade Runner sequel.

Not sure if it's the general consensus, but Blow Out is easily my favorite De Palma film.

The New World is in dire need of a rewatch for me.

I have to admit my De Palma game is really weak. Always loved Scarface, but other than that I'd only seen The Untouchables which turned me off of him completely for a few years. However, I blind bought Blow Out and watched it last night and it was amazing, totally see him in a new light and I'm excited to explore more of his work.

I'm with you on The New World rewatch, I think this time I'll try the "First Cut" version that's included in the criterion release.

Btw fam, I'm gonna be back up north next month so I think it only makes sense that you and I meet up to see Voyage of Time when it drops in theaters :banderas:

Blow Out or Dressed to k--- right? Untouchables is pretty fantastic as well, obviously.

hard to rank but I might put them like this (from what ive seen)

    1. Blow Out
    2. Dressed to k---
    3. Untouchables
    4. Carrie
    5. Casualities of War
    6. The Fury
    7. Scarface
    8. Mission: Impossible

    got some gaps as well

That feel when the new James Gray is the closing night at NYFF, but it's your girlfriend's birthday weekend...:mjcry:
Yep, Dressed to k--- and Casualties of War are both up there for me as well. A lot of my fellow film nerds really love Femme Fatale, which is a blast but I don't rate it quite as highly (It's a 4 star film from both Roger Ebert and Slant Magazine).

Not sure how one would even begin such a list, but The Playlist posted their 15 favorite shots from Terrence Malick films.
