you're a wackjob but i love it. This is happening soon. Raz and I wanna set up a film bro date to encourage each other to sit through the whole thing in one guy some free day. In the meantime, Turin Horse and Damnation are next.

One day I'll go to Cannes!

I never thought i'd like so much a musical as i love Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, Amazing set decoration, editing and photography, the camera felt so fluid i got into it really quick, the whole film is sung and yet it provides such a rich and deep dialogue it amazes me. Not that i've seen many musicals but i'd take this over Singing in the Rain or The Band Wagon anyday. 9/10

Based on my quick perusal of an admittedly small sample of initial reactions, it didn't seem like the new Kore-eda film, Our Little Sister, generated much excitement from critics today at Cannes. Garrone's Tale of Tales got a bit more of a response on account of how bizarre and strange it was, but I still didn't get the vibe critics liked it all that much either.

at first i was rly pumped to see this (Phoenix is on a historic hot streak).... but these sorts of films from woody are sooo corny. I don't even care about him sleeping with his daughter, if he wants to make something like Match Point, fine. But these May-October romances, his old fashioned comedies are pretty difficult to endure imo.

in other news, pumped to see mad max tonight.

At Cannes, Laszlo Nemes' Son of Saul received solid buzz and may be an early contender. The Lobster by Yorgos Lanthimos (MY PERSONAL STAR WARS) got a fairly divisive response, as one might expect from his prior work, with some fans and some detractors. The reviews for Woody's Irrational Man seemed pretty lukewarm overall. However, there appeared to be no disagreement on Gus Van Sant's Sea of Trees with McConaughey: everyone hated it :emoji_slight_frown:

In other news, K-Stew is reteaming with Olivier Assayas for another film. #blessed

I usually don't like to post out of context clips, but I'm so in for The Lobster.
