d---, just saw this...pretty disappointing. Though I've always preferred Slant for reviews, The Dissolve was a more regular provider of interesting content and think pieces.

I dissolved my Twitter a year ago. I'm pretty much a serial killer.

While I'm here, where does The Social Network stand in the 2010s with everybody?

the acting gets a little hammy at points (esp from garfield), but it's obviously a very good movie. say what you will about sorkin getting voicey, but he does something that should be unnecessary and convoluted (the double framing device thing) and makes it not only clean and clear, but adds drama to the story. PD/score are great, as everyone will mention.

Favorite pre-80s comedies? Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Dr Strangelove are pretty much the only ones I love.
Haven't seen early Woody Allen or any Chaplin yet. Looking for some others.

Excluding Chaplin and Allen...His Girl Friday, Bringing Up Baby, Sullivan's Travels, The Lady Eve and Duck Soup are a few of the classics.

Beside the many films by Chaplin, which i suggest you to watch as soon as possible:
To be Or No To Be, The Shop Around The Corner, Some Like it Hot, Sherlock Jr and The General are some. I love His Girl Friday and Bringing Up Baby aswell.

If you liked the Holy Grail you'll probably like The Life Of Brian too, im not the biggest fan of those two tho.

I actually haven't seen Dr. Strangelove. I should.

But I love Chaplin. I love Monty Phyton and the Holy Grail. Plus Safety Last!, Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy.

Has anyone seen The Sword of Doom; by Kihachi Okamoto?.

The Criterion is excellent, seen it for the 3rd time earlier this morning, I'm sure most of you have though.

It definitely deserves a spot on my Top 500.
