It's just so heavy handed and melodramatic. I love movies where characters deal with their own mortality and search for meaning in their lives, but I couldn't stand that guy staring off camera in long, geriatric pauses. I gave it the benefit of the doubt as being a cultural artifact, but I no longer think that's the case.

Robert Bresson is too much for my low IQ, i'm embarrased to say but i lose concetration while watching some of his films. Last one i saw was Au Hasard Balthazar, i liked it and the last 2 minutes are breathtaking but during the film my minds tends go away a lot. The one i appreciated the most is A Man Escaped.

The Assassin is my new favourite film of the year. Big Surprise right?

    2015 masterpieces now includes
    The Assassin
    The Forbidden Room
    Right Now, Wrong Then
    Room
    Mad Max

Bresson is goat. A Man Escaped his most accessible film. Country Priest the tops. And Four Nights (check out the avy)

Lost and Beautiful like a poor man's Au Hasard Balthazar.
    Kaili Blues a surprise gem
Sorrentino's Youth a small step backwards, but great cinematography

For anyone that pays attention to my ratings... I've shifted it to make /100 translate to 5 star system better.

    New system:

    90-100 pts. = Amazing/Masterful ★★★★★
    85-89 pts. = Excellent = ★★★★½
    80-84 pts. = Great= ★★★★
    75-79 pts. = Very Good = ★★★½
    65-74 pts. = Good = ★★★
    60-64pts. = Decent = ★★½
    50-59pts. = Mediocre = ★★
    40-49 = Bad = ★½
    20-39 = Awful = ★
    0-19 pts. = Unbearable = ½

Now gonna go back and change all those 75-79 films into 3 star boys.
