Never made that claim. You most likely don't check enough to care about a couple of hours.

he wanted to know where i was getting the info and i was giving him where he could to it first. i have no idea how he spends his time. I was answering his question. So technically if he wanted to get it first he would go to a torrent site. So i am right.

I walked out of Norte before the "big event" because the girl I was with was bored. My fault for taking her to a film like that, but she said she could handle it. Still mad. Will see soon, as it might be a contender for my end of year list.

I saw The Strange Little Cat and Ida and really enjoyed both.

The locking of the camera in The Strange Little Cat works extremely well and its cutting of characters out of the frame places its focus on the details of daily life. I really admired its passage of time with minor montages that were emphasized with editing and choice of music. I found the youngest daughter simply adorable -- she's also an incredibly gifted performer.

Ida has some of the most beautiful cinematography of any film this year. David Lowery called the film a secret, "perfectly kept," which sums up the film quite well. The film balances a number of genres, buts its road film one didn't absorb me as much. I did, however, love the final stretch of the film and Ida's awakening as a young woman.

    SAG Nominations too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21st_Screen_Actors_Guild_Awards

It's pretty cool that a film as great as Boyhood is the awards season front-runner this year. Only disappointment so far is that Marion Cotillard has been ignored for what are arguably the two best female performances of the year in Two Days, One Night and The Immigrant. To be fair, I haven't seen the other nominees yet, other than Rosamund Pike, but I'd be surprised if they reached the same heights.

I've only seen Boyhood, wich i love, but the Best Drama Category looks really bad. I would've add Two Days, One Night & Norte... In the Foreign Category. I've read good things about Jennifer Aniston but i doubt she did a better job than Marion Cotillard. As far as Julianne Moore goes, i'm a fanboy just like Twan is with Chastain, She did a good job on both movies.

Also good to see The Grand Budapest Hotel getting some love despite being a comedy and that it was released earlier this year

Julianne Moore is going to win the Oscar and I'm okay with that, she was fantastic in Still Alice. She's delivered some of the best performances of her career in this and Maps to the Stars, it would be cool to see her finally win her well-deserved Oscar. All that being said, Marion Cotillard's performance in The Immigrant is still my favorite female performance of the year.

Wrote a review of Winter Journey (2013), a Russian film screened recently at Film Lincoln for the Making Waves: Romanian New Wave Festival.

    Full Review: http://nextprojection.com/2014/12/11/making-waves-winter-journey-review/

82/100 - Great. A deeply emotive film, Winter Journey genuinely conveys both the suffering of isolation and the possibility of its escape.

I saw Snowpiercer and Lucy -- as you can see, I'm plowing my way through 2014 as much as possible.

I loved Snowpiercer. I had so much fun with the film and its role as a parable also worked really well with me. The final stretch is great, as is the final shot of the film.

Lucy was also fun. Her and Under the Skin is the perfect double feature, but Lucy is a great midnight choice to that lineup. It's incredibly silly but its out-and-out action works well because of that conceit.

    Marion in a sad cry
Several films here which weren't on my radar, and a few others I was considering 2013. A great list nonetheless, though a few oversights in Mommy, Jauja, Princess Kaguya, etc. Love that Immigrant is so high. Need to see the Marker.

Interesting, I am watching this thread never got any notificationsfor the last couple of days so missed a bunch of conversations. For movies I use pass the popcorn to check movies if they've leaked.

I'm so happy to see Under the Skin topping many lists.

I've seen John Wick today. I think I'm gonna give it a place in my Top 15, though I've got around it yet. Suffice it to say, I loved it.

Out of some misguided desire to be informed on the Oscars, I almost went to the theaters this weekend to see either The Imitation Game or The Theory of Everything, but instead I just carried on living my life. (I also watched It Felt Like Love and Happy Christmas at home. Both were dope.)
