    Naa, you can skip...it is not very good.

    Clumsy where O'Russell's last films at least were polished and oddly structured (bloated at the beginning, rushed at the end), Joy, while perhaps not as openly irritating as American Hustle, nonetheless feels especially half-baked. Its inspirational triumph-over-adversity story predictably hits all of its marks with precious little invention and it wears its feminism on its sleeve in only the most obvious and hollow manner (She wears pants!). The QVC stuff is kinda interesting and there are moments that suggest the possibility of an intriguing, unconventional biopic, but the end result feels fumbled.

    maybe we saw diff films? I have more 5 star films this year than last two, but i think the last two years were slightly stronger overall.

    I've only seen one of your 5/5s this year, so there's that. I have no 5/5s this year so far. I had 3 in 2014 and 2013. 2011 was a rockstar year for me.

    The Martian is such a good fun movie with a laughable cliche parts at the end (srsly? broadcasting a NASA rescue mission?)
