    Eazy gotta have that crunch

    Dec 23, 2015
ah...I might be spoiled as there's lots of demand of unskilled labour where I live

driving truck, working in warehouses, road repair work, drywalling etc probably all pay more than chipotle, look into it. I quit my job a month ago, I was a forklift driver and the pay was fine but I got sick of it

I'd much rather work at places like Chipotle than do labor jobs like that and k--- myself everyday, even if I had an avenue into that sort of work here. Pay isn't worth it if I'm hating life and exhausted all the time.

to each his own, I hear what you're saying about pay not being worth it if you don't like the work. It depends on your situation and just how bad the job is for how much money. manual labour is dirty, loud and tiring work but you can make $20 or more an hour compared to $11/hr minimum wage at Mcdonalds

No situation in which I'd take physical labor jobs over stuff like retail, fast food, etc. for any amount of money. I'm not cut out for the work physically, wouldn't mesh well with the people in that line of work for a variety of reasons, and the effect of the work on me would take my production time down from 20-40+ hours a week to basically none, which is an automatic no-go.

I asked this on the previous page...

Are you furthering your education or learning a trade?

Like, any job you have is going to be a pain in the a---, and to make any money, you're going to have to pay your dues, regardless.

Jobs in fast food, or restaurant chains, always end bad. That's why the employees are interchangeable. If you're happy making that type of money, then cool, but you can't complain with how you're treated. I guarantee, in a year's time, you'll be complaining about similar things about Chipotle.

My advice, if you're not into hard, physical labor (which pays excellent btw) would be to look into health, computer, government, delivery, etc. Stuff that there is always a high demand for, that pays well. You're going to have to branch out, and take chances. Work up the ladder, and put in work.

I'm also asking/saying this because I don't know your age. I'm guessing you're either in your teens or early 20's.

I saw it on mobile and forgot to respond, sry
I can't really afford college and don't know what I'd go for yet. Also not sure I can handle it on top of everything else at the same time, so I haven't bothered with it. Not interested in going into debt because of it either.

    Trade stuff isn't for me.

I'm not trying to sound like a d-ck here, but you sound like you're limiting yourself with your employment opportunities.

I mean, I don't know if your handicapped or something, but I don't see why you can't do all these different types of jobs lol, unless your content with your position in life, then good for you.

"I don't like physical labor" "trade stuff isn't for me" "can't handle college"

I understand the college one, but if you're not going to go to college, you need to understand that your appeal to employers is now limited.

You're 23... I hate to sound old here, but I remember 23 like it was yesterday, and I'm 30 now. You need to figure s--- out ASAP or you're gonna end up in those retail/fast food jobs for a career. If that's what you want, like I said, more power to you and good for you... But Chipotle is going to end up a lot like Taco Bell. Just being real with you. You are disposable at those positions, and no one is going to truly appreciate your work ethic or contributions in those occupations.

Take a chance. Go into bartending, or learn how to be a chef, or be a waiter. At least it's still in food services, and it's an upgrade from what you're doing now. Make a move to a city, improve your surrounding job market.

There's really no reason that you should be content working at fast food places, unless you truly love it, and if you do, try applying for manager positions instead of working the line. At least get paid well for your work ethic, unless you're not a good worker, but from what you said, it seems like you are/were.

I have crippling anxiety at times, and most likely Aspergers (will be going to a doctor to confirm soon).
I've thought of these and been told I'd be good for the positions but I legitimately would not be able to handle those. I'd be instantly overwhelmed and it wouldn't go well.
Can't do that until I can afford a car and get my license.
I'm not content with it, I hate it. I'd much rather move back into retail if there were actually any decent retail jobs around like the fantastic one I had when I worked at Yankee Candle. Had I stayed there I would've been the Assistant Manager at my store making salary rn, and in a few years time I would've had my own store making shitloads more.
I need to work my way up in places so I can gradually learn it all instead of being thrown in headfirst, or my anxiety will f---ing ruin everything.

    OK, now I understand.

Man, goodluck with that, that's rough. My gf has really bad anxiety. She's gotten better over the years, but I've witnessed that s--- first hand, obviously lol.

Hopefully you're going into counseling and trying to get treated. Don't give up on it, but it's tough finding the right counselors for that, and feeling comfortable.
