    it was a joke. But almost every aspect of football is violence. The line on every play is inflicting violence, O-Line pushing back the defense while the defense is trying to run them over to get to the ball. You can't say you hate how a violent sport glorifies violence

    Idk man. I just have mixed feelings. Yes there is violence in football but the essense of football is to get the pigskin across the goal line more than the opponent does. Even though it was a joke, the essense of murder is to take someone's life away. The essense is part of what keeps me connected to football because it isn't rooted from immorality

    Essentially it's kind of like war, right? You're trying to move into enemy territory while on Offense and push them back into submission when on Defense all through violent means. Ultimate Frisbee the essence is to get the frisbee over the goal line more than the opponent without being violent. Football sounds a little more violent now, right?

    Obviously my murder analogy isn't the same. I was just being a d-ck

    Average NFL players have like 10x the strength of average AFL players purely on the fact that they play in spurts while we play for long stretches. Their tackles, with or without protection, look menacing as f---.

    Used to love watching the intros to the old Madden games on ps1 and ps2. Also the old GameDay games. NFL used to market all those hard hits. Now they're 15 yard penalties.

    I almost feel bad watching life altering hits like these.

    Also regarding the comparison of Football and Rugby hits, Football will almost always have bigger impact hits due to the pads. You can't physically take those hits at that speed w/o pads.

    That's not knocking Rugby either.

    I still have neck issues from a football hit when i was in 7th grade which gave me migraines for years and idc and would encourage my kids to play football
