f---ing Varane man... killed the hopes of the entire team. Can't be too upset tho after those recent years of dominating European football and not so bad of a season. Real Madrid will be back stronger than ever next year and the year after when Mbappe potentially joins.

If I'm not mistaken the competition for the new season literally begins next month or in October so... here's for a new beginning.

Regardless of our blunders in the back, City were the very much better team; more hungry, more driven and overall Pep’s gameplan worked better than ours.

Congrats @Xmipod & @Koolo, I like City’s chances to go to the final. Lyon is a stubborn team but modern football shows it’s a disastrous idea to be defending so deep, even if they have one man attacking force Depay, especially against Guardiola’s press. Bayern is most likely the opponent in the semis and although they’ve played some fantastic football this season, no one in the Bundesliga has punished them, as demonstrated today City is unforgiving. From that point, it’s pretty much holding onto nerves in the final, no other team aside from a healthy PSG really should be too troubling. Wish you guys the best.

As for us Madridistas here (spoilers in case you’re curious about my thoughts on the team):
it’s clear we’re still not the finished product yet. Sucks Varane had a really bad day, hopefully the experience gives him a much needed foot in the a--- to step it up, Ramos ain’t gonna be here forever. Modric & Kroos are the greatest midfield pairing we ever had, but all good things must come to an end. Fede & Odegaard will amend our lack of energy and impetus in the middle some day, but we’re far from being the team that dominated this competition, a lot more work needs to be done before we can compete again.

    Thank you brudda!

Nah I just used to help scouting for my local USL (lower pro division in the USA) team. My expertise was on developing matchday tactics and player analysis. Was gonna do it again this year but you know, Covid-19

Sucks about Mbappe’s injury, that’s a massive blow to PSG’s chances. Atalanta can breathe easier since that beast was the biggest threat when it came to him running past their patented high line. If they can’t make it to the final THIS year, they are an absolute embarrassment.

The bracket on the other side is far more brutal. Bayern have played some great football this year, but nobody in the Bundesliga has been punishing them the way the other teams here can. Juve has a disastrous midfield, Barca has ancient legs, Real’s attack has been lackluster and City’s defense still doesn’t inspire much confidence. It’s seriously coming down to which team can exploit each other’s defects better.

Nice to see fans watching a live game nowadays. This picture is from yesterday's Coupe de France final that was played at Stade de France in Paris between PSG and St Etienne.

@Fire Squad My country (Bahrain) won the gulf cup (24th edition, held in Qatar) for the first time ever in their history and the first trophy for the nation. 1-0 against Saudi Arabia. It's a historic day for the nation. Celebrations everywhere right now in the streets.

One of the most pulsating group games I've ever seen, had to even double check it was group stages and not the 2nd leg of the semis. Can't say I'm surprised at the scoreline, I've mentioned it before, Chelsea & Ajax play foot on the accelator football; f--- elaborate defensive shapes they just move that ball up the field as fast as possible and see what happens! This group is wild, the games vs Valencia will seal anyone's fates.

Some other notes and observations from yesterday: BvB-Inter was wild, can't believe they blew a 2-0 lead (Lukaku remains a fantastic striker but he needs to be more ruthless like his partner up top Martinez). Chucky Lozano scored woooo! Lol at Barca. Group G is a g.d. war zone, Lyon's win means everyone is still alive.

@Alpha I think it'd be a great idea for Real to get a win at the Bernabeu, any other result would land us in some deep s---. Rodrygo & Hazard braces incoming

Haven't posted in here since Eden left. :emoji_slight_frown:

I'm so happy for him, he's gonna play for his childhood club and Real fans are gonna love him. He was the best player in the Premier League easily for me.

    Thank you for everything :emoji_blue_heart::emoji_blue_heart::emoji_blue_heart:

I'll be flying to Berlin tonight for 3 weeks!! Think I should be seeing another Hertha Berlin game this season lol.. I'll also be around for the Dortmund v Bayern game which will be absolutely crucial. Hopefully find a nice bar for that!

Swear I've been following Hertha more than Chelsea this season lol. Nice to see a couple of Hertha boys play in the U/21 German squad. We have a lot of young guns :D

Real won champions league, Ronaldo was his typical goal poacher self. Not to mention 4 goals in WC. He’s winning it. No reason to debate.

And just like that, out of nowhere, Zidane officially resigns as a head coach.

Beat the champions of Germany, France & Italy to win their 3rd consecutive Champions League title; huge errors from Karius obviously but you can’t take much away from Madrid—this team are winners.

Makes it that much better that it’s against Liverpool too.
