Mar 17, 2018 Why are you or anybody even entertaining sales. As if we're not smart enough to pick apart their music. It's easy to show that Eminem is an astronomically better writer and rapper than Drake from pure analysis of their lyrics, f--- sales; it's a weak argument when Stans used to use it to prop up Eminem and it's weak when anybody uses it. Ultimately, music sells because it's catchy. It's memorable. That doesn't say anything about how clever it is; plenty of the biggest selling acts of all time are dumb a--- shallow pop, which is saying very little other than surface, repetitive statements on 99% of the time - love, but in a very catchy way. Catchiness doesn't = greatness. It's one element. But if we're talking about lyricism or who's the better rapper here, that's not relevant. Eminem is an absolutely superb writer when he's good. Drake is pure corn (..."waits for somebody to quote a stupid Eminem line and go 'THIS IS A SUPERB WRITER HA', as I said - when they're both at their best. Let's not anybody - reduce ourselves to stupid, weak arguments)
