Jun 2, 2015 missed 2 episodes and somehow avoided all spoilers last 2 episodes were wild i know people are rightfully losing their s--- over the battle, but tyrion's scenes are still GOAT.
Jun 2, 2015 how is this season abysmal lol im with @BigCountry thought this season was pretty gr8 so far, and especially after these last few eps
Jun 2, 2015 It just occurred to me that we never got to see the Battle of the Fist of the First Men on the show. All we got was the aftermath and Sam looking scared while Ghost saves him. That was another massacre. This latest episode makes up for that.
Jun 2, 2015 Yeah I don't think the season is awful by any means, but definitely the slowest. I wouldn't quite call it straight exposition, but there was a lot of set up. Anyway the battle + tyrion/dany scenes make up for it...there's some other big stuff coming in the next two episodes assuming they end the season where book 5 ends. At this point I don't even see book 6 coming out by the time the show ends, holy s---. f---in GRRM needs to take a hint from hip-hop and surprise drop books 6 and 7 the day after ep 10 airs
Jun 2, 2015 its probably cause i watched all 4 leaked episodes at once that i didnt feel/care about the pacing. just thought from a technical pov a lot of this season is more sound than the in the most i really wish i picked up the books at some point. still will most likely in the future but not until something like a trip to india that gives me a lot of time to read
Jun 2, 2015 If I'm not mistaken, he said in a recent interview (april) that he wants the 6th book to be published before the next season starts. If it comes out in 2016, it'll be 20 years since the first one The books are extremely rewarding, man. If you can buy / borrow them it'd be great, I'll reread them this summer. Still have to catch up with this season though lol
Jun 4, 2015 Just watched the last episode, holy s--- that was intense. Been reading a lot of comments online saying that was the best GOAT GOT episode, I wouldn't go that far, but it was incredible.
Jun 7, 2015 This show has done a great job of destroying Stannis' character. However, Stannis killed his own brother so I guess anything is possible.
Jun 8, 2015 Welp, no more sympathy for Stannis. The legendary dragon looked pretty bothered by guys with spears lol. The trained fighting force getting killed by rich people in masks. Oh look, Arya is going to k--- that person you had to Google to remember. Where is Brenn? Where is Little Finger? Where is Varys? When is the Mountain going to finally be reanimated? This is what happens when you're faithful to meticulous novels written over the course of decades. Hard to keep up with 9 hours a season.
Jun 8, 2015 Dany was like "Sorry guys, I'm going to save Drogon instead of y'all. Fend for yourselves!"
Jun 8, 2015 The show runners wanted no nuanced nonsense with Stannis the Mannis, they've utterly f----- his character. No redeeming quality left. For all my life I have been a true and leal servant of House Baratheon of Dragonstone but I can no longer recognize him as the one true King as Westeros. I hope my colleague Lord Davos Seaworth, Admiral of the Narrow Sea, Lord of the Rainwood and Hand of the King abandons his service as well. I'm on my way to the Dreadfort. May the Old Gods watch over our Warden of the North, Lord Bolton, the future Red King of the North.
Jun 8, 2015 please don´t try to be writer if you think everyone should always act completely in line with how they always acted. That is what great drama is, it is when you put a person in a position where they have conflicting emotions. The mother, who has been a cult-like idiot finally, at the last moment grasping her maternal instinct. I also think Stannis laid it out very well when he was talking to the girl earlier in the episode. Of course he loves his daughter, but his destiny is to be king. GoT would not be GoT if they wrote it like people want... everyone would be good or evil and everyone would act predictable without internal conflict.
Jun 8, 2015 I'm not talking about bad writing, I'm just saying they drove the final nail in the coffin for Stannis the Mannis. Also the whole character of Stannis evolves around his sense of duty and an iron will hence why he won't give up his claim. He killed his heir.
