May 13, 2019Honestly, this was not a story that could've been told in 6 episodes. After the 6th season, HBO should have ordered 3 more seasons that are regular length (10 episodes per season).
D&D and HBO f----- up beyond belief, I don't understand why they decided to order only 13 episodes after season 6 and then absolutely f--- it up with fast pacing, quick and s-----y dialogue and fast travelling.
Do they not like money? What was the f---ing point of rushing a decade long build up?
Season 7 should've been Jon gathering allies for the war against the Night King, but instead of having half of the season having a slow pace and then suddenly one episode of them beyond the wall where a raven flies 1500 miles to Dragonstone and Daenerys flying that same distance back to Eastwatch and beyond the wall OVERNIGHT... pace it in a way that makes f---ing sense.
Season 8 should have been all dedicated to the battle in the North against the Night King and his army of the dead
Season 9 should have been all dedicated to the battle for the Iron Throne and Daenerys slowly losing her s--- in the span of a season and not 1 episode.
The story makes sense on paper, but not on screen.

The ending is good (their story started with and ends with "the things I do for love), how it got there isn't. Jamie slowly became more morally "good" throughout the series (though I think he was always more good than he let on), and then in 30 min of screentime he gets with brienne (who he also clearly has had feelings for) then bounces. Like everything with the past two seasons, it's not even that how the story unfolds is bad, a lot of it just doesn't feel earned because they crammed in too much in too little time. There was no time to see Jamie contemplate and become on edge and then decide to go back to Cersei. I'd even be OK with the catalyst for him going back to cersei was him f---ing brienne and realize cersei's still who he loved but they didn't convey that that well imo. -

Seasons 1-6 are all based directly upon the books (the 6th book may not be out yet, but hundreds (if not a 1000+) pages of manuscript are written for them to draw from and I'm sure GRRM had the plot all drafted out). 5 is the only one of those seasons that's kinda bad and that's because it's based upon source material that's kinda bad.
Seasons 7-8 it's so clear all they had to go off of was a general outline of the plot. They coulda done almost anything—HBO basically handed them a blank check—but they're rushing through the story sooooo fast and it makes the pacing so weird. Like I said everything that happened in this ep woulda happened over like three episodes in previous seasons.
I'm still entertained by it and of course I'ma watch till the end but the only episode of the season I thought was on par with the show at its best so far was episode 2. -

Dexter finale might have actually been better...
GOT will never be considered a top tier show. Season 1-4 were great. It never reached the heights of

2. D&D s--- s--- at writing without source material (As a side note, the reason season 5 wasn't that great was because it was based upon the worst portion of the source material and has the most storylines made up by D&D. The reason season 6 is good is because it's based upon a book that, while hasn't been released yet, has lots of pages written for them to go off of).
3. D&D wanted to wrap it up so they could go get their Star Wars bag. HBO essentially gave them a blank check and wanted to do two full length seasons. -

Finale was trash. Show had some great moments and S1-4 were fire. D&D are off to ruin Star Wars now. RIPNoRoleModelz, Enigma, DKC and 2 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

I will admit that I hate how easy it was for Drogon and Dany to just wipe out like 80 scorpions considering how easy the other two dragons went down(This ad goes away when signing up) -
