May 6, 2019 This season is such a dumpster fire. It truly is fun watching it crash and burn. Watching the rabid fans try to justify it is comedy gold.
May 6, 2019 nahhhhhh man. They're rushing through the story so fast and flubbing it. It just shows that the showrunners don't know what the f--- they're doing without source material. Seasons 1-6 are all based directly upon the books (the 6th book may not be out yet, but hundreds (if not a 1000+) pages of manuscript are written for them to draw from and I'm sure GRRM had the plot all drafted out). 5 is the only one of those seasons that's kinda bad and that's because it's based upon source material that's kinda bad. Seasons 7-8 it's so clear all they had to go off of was a general outline of the plot. They coulda done almost anything—HBO basically handed them a blank check—but they're rushing through the story sooooo fast and it makes the pacing so weird. Like I said everything that happened in this ep woulda happened over like three episodes in previous seasons. I'm still entertained by it and of course I'ma watch till the end but the only episode of the season I thought was on par with the show at its best so far was episode 2.
May 7, 2019 Arya: "Theres 4 of us now, we have to stick together" Also Arya: >sneaks off to Kings Landing with no plan on returning
May 7, 2019 bs brah, it may be rushed, but it's better than 2+ epsiodes of monologues filler bs with 0 replay value. if you rewatch season 1-4 guarantee you'll be skipping/fast forwarding through s---
May 7, 2019 I rewatch the whole thing before a new season comes out so the first few seasons are the ones Ive replayed the most and loved them. If they stuck to the original formula of 10 episodes a season it would've been fine. And like you said, you rate this season on par with the earlier ones that have the build up and filler. I guess that is logical but at the same time all Arya's ever cared about was family and revenge, not whos on the iron throne. And Jon is still family, she was closest to him out of all the siblings.
May 7, 2019 I rewatched it all before the 8th season and I disagree. Earlier seasons did a way better job of balancing action with character development. Season 7 was the most boring to rewatch bc it's all spectacle that I'd already seen. Only filler I recall in seasons 1-4 is the over-extended theon torture p--- scenes.
May 7, 2019 yeah so you answered your own question with the revenge thing. shes going to k--- some lannisters in kings kings landing
May 7, 2019 i try to rewatchr it every season and it's just too boring breaker of chains breaking chains like 8 times and losing her dragons every 2 eps comes to mind as filler. though worst parts of that s--- dragged out more so in 7 majority of season 1 is character development with not a whole lot of impact in the big picture. Just set up more than anything. season 2 is like what? robb running round in circles tryna get revenge and thats about it
