Oct 26, 2021 Them not being funny anymore/losing their sense of humor. For one. I worry that this part of its integrity is already in jeopardy. If I gotta skip past talk radio because it's too safe, and the billboards become objectively corny....that could be the catalyst for a real lame domino-effect. I wish they still loved satire too much to be woke like Tone said, but I highly-doubt that. The Housers are pretty much gone from "Rockstar*", and that was the genius behind it all. Sam is a cornball and Dan is a sellout slutbag.
Oct 26, 2021 Heard they adding a new weapon to vice city a mace or something Look: The Mace is given to Tommy Vercetti after the completion of the Mission "Demolition Man" this quest is started when Tommy enters the destroyed building in Vice Pount. It is initially called the Rusty Mace and made to look like an offering, placed at the Altar of Lance Vance.
Oct 26, 2021 They have been censored in parts over here tbf, Netflix is doing the same. If you’re talking about the movie posters in China, that was fake news.
Oct 26, 2021 Some classics, it's been known. I understand that it was a different era, but just have a disclamer or something instead of censoring them.
Oct 26, 2021 nah I didn't hear about any posters, just referring to the fact that the chinese market for american film has gotten so big that they have a big influence over content cuz studios are afraid to offend the gov't and get the films pulled from that market...kinda like how the american military consults for marvel moves n s--- I'm in 100% agreement with you there—i remember as a kid seeing those old racist looney tunes shorts on cartoon network and they had a disclaimer beforehand that said something like "these cartoons feature racial stereotypes that were prominent and pervasive at the time. They weren't OK then and aren't OK now, but to remove them would be to pretend that they never existed." That's the move for stuff like that imo
Oct 26, 2021 That’s the whole point of the character lol. I would say they are even making them look better by erasing that flag from the game, cause they are not parodying them explicitly anymore.
Oct 28, 2021 I mean that s--- came out in 2013, don’t think anyone was saying that back then. I guess you could say gta5 fell off; I still don’t agree, but you could say that. Like I said, their last effort in rdr 2 was universally praised and was really really good story and gameplay wise. That was just 3 years ago. Agree to disagree I guess.
Oct 28, 2021 GTAV and RDR2 were both dope. I don't think they fell off at all, it's just the new generation of kids wanting to play online instead of story mode, that's why we don't have a GTAV DLC or GTAVI yet, not because of some remasters.
Oct 28, 2021 GTA 5 still has the best open world map in gaming. No one can do that like rockstar, but the storyline itself was garbage. I can see people saying they fell off in that respect. They've obviously taken the focus to online because they can keep adding things to it and making more money.
Oct 28, 2021 This reads like "GTAV was the pioneer of micro transactions and micro transactions are by all means bad in every way" Like you said "nba/cod/ea s---" yeah that's their competitors who have been shi--ing out sub-par gtaVs every year for the past 20 odd. Nothing wrong with the singleplayer stories of gta4 or gtav, far more nuance and depth in them then a standard AAA. I swear people are like "rockstar fell of because the most profitable game ever made is something I don't play" Ignoring the microtransactions have you c---- seen the online community? It's fantastic and full of life with custom game lobbies everywhere. It's probably the best custom multiplayer game on market atm. But I mean yeah, you make a good point some fa---- spent a lot of their mum and dads money on this game so it's s--- lol
Oct 28, 2021 I rly loved how gta 3 story featured a deaf and mute main character. Added a lot of depth to the story, especially with those s-----y graphics at the time showing f--- all facial expression. Could really tell it was an emotional driven story that game
Oct 28, 2021 People were definitely under the impression within the first couple of years of release that the story mode wasn’t on the level of the previous ones especially with no further expansions. The technical aspects were superior due to hardware improvements of course but in terms of problematic features, the hinge on the multiplayer portal only exasperated the problems the core fan base had with the game’s limited story mode. None of this would’ve been a problem had they not stuck to the same game for 3 generations/essentially a decade.
Oct 28, 2021 I think we just have different definitions of “falling off”. Sounds like your problem is with the game of gtaV itself, as opposed to Rockstar. Games take time to make. Since 2013, catering to GTAV audiences, developing Red Dead 2, and presumably working on GTA6 is a lot of work. I don’t see much room in there to release another GTA. I’m not surprised 6 isn’t out yet, and would be very surprised if we even got an official announcement within the next year. It just is what it is.
Oct 29, 2021 nah the tldr is it's not that I think they 100% fell off just that their focus looks to have shifted which makes me worry about future games. Nothing inherently wrong with focusing on an online game but I personally always play rockstar games for the single player/story experience I'm with @Worm though GTAV open world map is amazing but the story wasn't anything special. RDR2 story was amazing though.
