Dec 17, 2018 This clip made me think about the way I discuss music with people. I honestly have racked up way more minutes listening to Eminem than possibly anyone other artist over the years. But when people ask me what kind of music I listen to as an icebreaker or something like that... I'll list off basically anything except Eminem. I guess I'm just insecure of the precedent it might set; or what that says about me. At 26, it's pretty f---ing easy to appear completely out of touch if you admit you f--- with artists who peaked 15 years ago.

Dec 18, 2018 I agree with him and disagree with him at the same time. This "I ain't bumping, no one is bumping Em in their car so he ain't the king" argument is ridiculous. Em's music isn't meant for cars. You just don't play his music inside the car without paying attention to his bars. You take in his word play, you understand his rhyme schemes and metaphors. It isn't as digestible as trap rap. Trap rap is a great choice for car but again, there are better trappers than Gucci. He ain't the king of rap either. He's absolutely right about Eminem not being the king anymore. Em had his run years ago. Eminem can still be a king but still shitloads of hip hop audience doesn't f--- with his music/production choices/rapping style anymore and they've their own silly or genuine reasons for that. Dec 18, 2018 Kamikaze still got a lot of criticism on the web because Em's old head attitude was at full display. And also, not everyone appreciates his production choices anymore. I run a review page and I saw thousands of people still slamming the album for being "Generic with his beats" and Em being an oldhead. And even if Kamikaze got better reception, it doesn't change the larger picture. Majority of fans still hate his majority of his new s---. MMLP2, Relapse, Recovery and Revival are still polarizing as f---.
Dec 18, 2018 His music aged just fine. The difference between Em and other artists is he could make songs like these and have them be hits. Not a lot of rappers were getting heavy radio play with songs like The Way I Am or Lose Yourself.
