How has the year been for you so far? Will the second half be better, worse, or the same?

Its been okay. Like, I can't really complain.. at all. But yeah sometimes I do hope something more -positive- things happen, personally.

Overall I think the world is not gonna get much better, sadly

Thanks man, same way to you!

But yeah I think my post sounded more negative than I meant it to be. I'm good, and if I look at my life objectively it's great actually. But I donno, its a little on autopilot, going through the motions you know?

Oh yeah that makes sense. A lot of us go into autopilot. At least you are able to recognize that you’re in it, that’s a good start

I'm happy. Work is going great so I'm earning a f--- ton of money.
Booked some amazing holidays. In fact, I've got 4 vacations currently booked and I'm equally as excited about all of them.
Solo travelling around Poland in about 5 week
Cruise around Northern Europe in October
Cruise to Norway in May without the kids
Cruise to Greece and Israel in October next year.

Yesss, it’s been so good to me (don’t wanna jinx it) And I really think most of it was because I moved out of Florida last year. Work has been great. I’ve been hiking a lot more and doing a lot more traveling/road trips, as well.

First half of the year was very busy for me and a combination of really bad and really good lol but things have calmed down.

I don't think I ever posted this outside of staff sxn, but my Mom had a stroke earlier this year, so that was def scary but she's back on her feet and back to work at this point so all things considered she's doing great.

Got back into doing more rap journo again which has been nice/fulfilling to write some things I'm proud of

    Had some fun trips:
-LA + Vegas for my friends bachelor party and wedding
-Another friend's wedding about an hour outside of portland
-Visited my grandparents in rural Oregon and helped my grandpa and cousins put up insulation/electrical/a ceiling in my grandpa's shop
-And ofc Seattle to visit home

I think I'm gonna go to NYC later this year.

Where'd you go on your roadtrip?

I'm a huge road trip fan and have been itching to go on another one. That's basically how I ended up moving to Atlanta, I was on a roadtrip after I'd moved out of my apt in Seattle and just never went back lol. Been to every contagious state that way.

Hey DKC it’s been awhile. Nice to hear you’re doing well and your mom is feeling better.
I might be going to NYC this year as well, I have a cousin who moved up there and she said I should visit and see the Rockefeller xmas tree.
And that’s exactly why I moved near the Atlanta area, as well. The weather is so perfect here and seasons..we gets all seasons! It’s not just hot all year like Florida. And living so close to other states has its benefits. I’ve travelled to TN and NC, multiple times. And I’ve travelled thru to WV.
Last week I went to Lookout Mountain, TN. I recommend going if you haven’t been!! AL has awesome caves, I’m really thinking of going there next. Have you been to Helen, GA? It’s one of my favorite places here.

Great to hear from you as well! How are you liking GA? So are you outside the city then if you don't mind me asking?

I have not been to Helen! Truth be told I haven't explored much in GA outside of the ATL metro area but I'll def put Helen on the list! You have any specific recs for that area? I really wanna check out Savannah, heard it's amazing.

But yeah Georgia's nice cuz you can drive to so many different places in a day. I think Florida (at least the Miami area) is somewhat similar to Seattle in that it's kinda in its own bubble cuz it's so far away from most other cities outside the state so it's so nice to be able to hop in the car and go so many diff places.

I've also heard Lookout Mountain is cool, I've been to Chattanooga before but never there. I have a friend who just moved to Chatt so I should check it out!

Rural WV is beautiful but man the cities there are so fkn bleak and depressing.

Been a fast year. New house, new car, and new job. But a pretty boring year of just work.

Yep that’s fine I’m 30 mins north of ATL actually.
Ahh if I'm not traveling outside of GA I’m def exploring it, you gotta!! There’s so many cool spots, hikes & trails, free museums, and breweries/pubs. Ect.
Helen is a cool Bavarian town, it has a mountain coaster. You can tube on the Chattahoochee (it’s a bit of a pain since it isn’t smooth like a man-made lazy river —obv, but it was fun imo) It’s fun during Oktoberfest but if the crowds aren’t your thing, I’d avoid it during that time. And has an an awesome pizza joint called slice of Helen. :)
Savannah is sooo beautiful; cobblestone roads and parks and a tucked away bookstore/antique shop. I def wanna go back.

That’s cool, def check out lookout mtn when you’re there! Lol yep exactly, I don’t think I can do WV again..was really pretty but once is enough for me.

First half went pretty well. Visited NYC and Connecticut and loved it over there, started making more money than before etc. As for the second half? No idea. Could go better, could go worse there's no way to tell

Yeah I stayed in Charleston WV for a night when I went through coming from Buffalo and it was so pretty. Like there's just trees all around you on the highway and all of a sudden you come out of it and there's a city in the middle of the forest, it's so cool. But the city itself is so so depressing. Rampant obesity, huge opioid problem state-wide, overall just feels run down.

On this same roadtrip I also went to Acadia National park on Mt Desert Island in Maine, highly recommend if you like hiking and stuff. It's gorgeous and the whole island is basically the park. I was only planning on staying two nights but ended up extending my stay to five and felt like I only barley scratched the surface, there's so much to do.

Have you ever been to the Trap Music museum in Atlanta? Def worth a visit and they have an "Escape the Trap" escape room too that I did when I had some friends in town lol.

Man this has me itching to do another roadtrip. Gotta explore the Carolinas more...and Florida, since it's the only contiguous state I've never never driven into on my roadtrips (flown into Miami and Orland from when I lived in Seattle).

Yeah I went to a town called Davis and got snowed in for a few days bc my car doesn’t have snow tires and I wanted to wait it out it to avoid falling off a mountain!! The hotel was empty with little staff. I felt like I was in the shining.

Ahh Thanks for the recs. I’m always looking for new spots to road-trip to/hike. I haven’t been to Maine, yet but it’s on my list.

I haven’t been to trap museum but I heard about it. Lol sounds like fun I’ll have to check it out. I still haven’t been to the ATL zoo, either.
Maybe because I’m from South Florida but it’s the worst. Unless you’re going to Disney World or Key West. I’m so sorry, I don’t mean to yuck your yum it’s just so incredibly hot all the time.
But ok, if you do go back to Miami, you should check out the Venetian Pool and the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. Absolutely gorgeous.
