Actually it was originally gonna be I'm Back. For whatever reason the label didn't think it would be a good first single. So out of anger he wrote The Way I Am and they still wanted another single. That's when finally he wrote TRSS.

you guys are funny, still have some people believing in the always in the studio recording bs, he recorded relapse in 2 months and all his albums before that in less time, he recorded recovery in also like 2 months.
He then got bored and didn't do s--- for a few years, he must have recorded mmlp2 in also 2 months but took 3 years of f---ing around.

no Eminem hasn't been recording everyday for the last few years, the 2 new material we got from him( campaign freestyle and big sean acapella verse) are clearly from the same recording session. Eminem has become lazy( who can blame him tbh?). guy is rich af and can do what he wants, but don't believe for a second that hes in the studio recording everyday please. He probably started recording the new album only a few months ago.

I've always imagined he would take time to try and master his last album. That's what part of me thinks and the other half of me thinks he finally saw negative reception about all his recent features and scratched the album because he had an album full of no favor type verses. Just imagine how horrible that piece of s--- would have been.

His problem is he hasn't had a genuine album since relapse. Encore and Relapse felt more genuine than recovery and mmlp2. In Recovery he was trying for a new direction and it s----d and in mmlp2 he was trying to recapture old magic but it just felt forced. Mmlp was also a bad choice to make a sequel of I mean I think the original mmlp hasn't aged too well because of too many cultural and pop references that are dated now. He should have made a sslp2 if he had to do a sequel


Serious question though does he even look at feedback on the internet? Like is he aware that everyone thinks he sucks now or what?

It's crazy how many songs Em recorded for MMLP2. Choosing from 200 songs definitely accounts for the lack of cohesion

I'd like to know what kind of quality he could pull out nowadays if he focussed on perfecting a cohesive sounding album with all songs actually fitting on the album i.e no filler tracks

Not a fan of Logic at all but I saw in an interview how he spend over a year working solely on 12/13 tracks, would be interesting if Em did something similar

I cant be assed to source interviews, but in every emjnem release there is clips of him saying stuff like "we went to the studio and created the album in 2 months"...he takes time perfecting the beats and stuff but he makes the songs very quick

Didnt he make mmlp in 3 weeks?
