Jun 4, 2017 I mean I don't know what to expect anymore from Em...I said before i'm pretty sure he scrapped the album and started working on a new one, the only thing I want is to give us some info...like it's been nearly 4 years since MMLP2 I think at least we deserve to know on what stage he is, is he in early stage, is he finalizing it? It sucks we don't know s---
Jun 4, 2017 Thought GOF was another song tbh, just listened to it again I'll get back up and uuuuh - literally don't know how I managed to get that far into the song
Jun 4, 2017 It might be the longest... I wonder how long he's been actively working on it. Who said he usually takes 2 months though?... He's said himself before / TES era that an album is "a year and some change". The shortest time he appear to spend on an album was Recovery. And that had a lot of holes. If he just spent more time on that, and re-writing, and mixing better... s--- coulda been twice as good. Also, if that's true, that he does spend about 2 months recording... d--- Em, spend more time. I mean, I guess 2 months is a long time if all he's doing is writing and recording vocals, but I'd rather him re-write and sit with s--- and think about it all more, I'd rather him take longer to make something longer-lasting. Seems pretty fast, and just 'whatever I come up with I'm recording bam bam'
Jun 4, 2017 Yeah I think that'd maybe be a better approach at this stage. I hope he has done that, or a similar approach. Recording a s--- ton, in one sense, seems to be good for his evolution - like - the degree to which his skill jumped from Recovery to MMLP2 was crazy. In rhyming, wordplay, flows... MMLP2 has a lot of variety, Seems like part of the problem is though, when he's just recording a lot, he goes through mood changes and style changes, then that's probably why s--- sounds all over the place - because we're getting a selection of his best s--- from a year ago and best a month ago, and he changes a lot and plays with a lot of different styles in that timeframe. So it doesn't fit. Would be great if he thought seriously about the concept, deeply about really dope song themes and spent ages crafting each song, and re-writing and perfecting each one, and the whole structure and flow of the album.
Jun 4, 2017 We also don't know if the album is done already, and they're just having scheduling/1st single issues
Jun 4, 2017 His problem is he hasn't had a genuine album since relapse. Encore and Relapse felt more genuine than recovery and mmlp2. In Recovery he was trying for a new direction and it s----d and in mmlp2 he was trying to recapture old magic but it just felt forced. Mmlp was also a bad choice to make a sequel of I mean I think the original mmlp hasn't aged too well because of too many cultural and pop references that are dated now. He should have made a sslp2 if he had to do a sequel Serious question though does he even look at feedback on the internet? Like is he aware that everyone thinks he sucks now or what?
Jun 4, 2017 imo he gets his feedback via the s--- rappers he surrounds himself with. Crooked I can't even light a cigar properly, so who knows what kind of nonsense they tell him. Like I legitimately think all of, or most of Shady records is low IQ. possibly even 2 digit IQ range.
Jun 4, 2017 But even then if they're just looking up eminem forums it's gonna be filled with Stans anyway Someone seriously needs to break into his house at gunpoint to tell him his music sucks
Jun 4, 2017 that was my exact thought process when i was quoted with "lol" i didn't know what was happening, I was in shock and a state of confusion.
Jun 4, 2017 And tbf Slaughterhouse is made up of lyricists who don't know how to make actual songs on the level Em used to. They defo show more love when Em goes super technical lol
