Yes it has. Time is a great healer. Simple advice but it does usually pan out like that.

In the past few months most of the stuff in my life has done a complete 180. I'm not complaining because things could be worse for sure, but it's crazy how things can go from simple & normal to a whirlwind basically. Anybody else have experiences like this?

Life hitting me hard as f--- right now tbh, but I don't wanna get into that right now.

Saw the subject of dogs, and yeah very little if anything hits me worse than when we have to put a dog down..it's just so sad to me. Part of it is losing someone who's basically been a family member for 10-15 years, but another part of it is it makes me real sad that the dog doesn't even know what's going on exactly...when we put down my golden retriever and they put the thing in her that when they pull it out, she'd slowly fall asleep and pass away(don't know what it's called..), she came back into the room wagging her tail, all happy etc and it just made me lose it knowing she was about be gone, and didn't even realize it.

I have 3 dogs now, one of them is almost 13, starting to have trouble with his balance at times, hearing isn't as good as it used to be, walks slower and more carefully..I'm already preparing for the inevitable, just hope it's still a while. This dog means everything to me and the day we have to let him go will be...just brutal. He's also a very active, always on alert kinda dog so it's already getting sad seeing him struggle with that some, not being able to be on guard and be as active as he used to be. Still, for now he's generally happy and gets around decent, but unfortunately it's probably unlikely he makes it to 2019, or at least too far into it...I'd love to be wrong of course though.

Why can't dogs live as long as humans? Ugh...

But as for me, I turned 27 a few months ago and it's the first time in my life I've ever felt truly...lost, I guess is the word. It's just a strange feeling being in the twilight of my 20s. Not that some magic switch is gonna change anything when I turn 30, but you start seeing people around you getting married, having kids, settling into careers, buying houses etc. and I feel like I have so much left I wanna do before I settle down.

    Nice dog.

I am a dog lover myself. I have a springer spaniel for 9 years now. It will be tough when he dies.

But I realised 2 things are key in life experience & confidence. Also try to do as many things you enjoy doing as often as possible.

Lol I'm all good bro. The first few years of my 20's were rough but after going through the things I have(and I know how trite this sounds) it's only made me stronger. I watched my brother die in the most violent manner imaginable and was left to clean the s--- up myself(thanks to this country's incredible law enforcement). If I can get through that I can handle anything.

I work with a LOT of people. And yeah, that's all the norm but I'm around to see the divorces, the ugly custody battles, losing the house, realizing they hate their careers and going back to school.... all at 35. Trust me when I say you aren't missing out on a f---ing thing.

I was sort of afraid of the same thing before I married/had a kid/got a house,. It's a scary thought making the leap into the conventional dad life; almost like youre scripting the rest of your life with one decision. But take it from me this s--- really is mind over matter.
When I got married my wife and i traveled to a few places i had always wanted to visit. I went on a motorcycle road trip which was also a bucket list type thing for me. And had the most memorable spring break of my life.
A year+ later, a few months after my baby boy was born we visited my late g pops old ranch in mx which he had begged me to go to for years.
After buying my wife's parents house and completely renovating it, I'm now on the side making moves towards making a career out of a longtime hobby of mine and working for myself. Which is essentially a dream of mine.
Idk if these seem trivial to some, but those are really things that I always looked forward to accomplishing and never really committed myself to until I "settled down". And i feel like Ive enjoyed doing them much more now than I would've before.
All this to say don't let the fear of a monotone life keep you from "settling down" if it's something you feel like you're inclined to doing. You can turn it into a healthy fear if u really bout it bout it. Take ur own course, don't let the white man dictate when you should do what with your life. *gives you a nice pat on the butt* go get em, boy
