Nov 18, 2015 I agree 100% with @Koolo .... I still love the song but I do think Em could have put a little more effort into it
Nov 18, 2015 the song has classic moments imo...the best part of MMLP2 for me is on this song All you did, all you said, you did your best to raise us both Foster care, that cross you bear, few may be as heavy as yours But I love you, Debbie Mathers, oh, what a tangled web we have, 'cause one thing I never asked was Where the f--- my deadbeat dad was f--- it, I guess he had trouble keeping up with every address But I'd have flipped every mattress, every rock and desert cactus Own a collection of maps and followed my kids to the edge of the atlas the raw emotion, the honestly you feel..the flow, the words..by far the best part of MMLP2 is this...also there are few other things here and there...but overall its littered with bad lines that it can ruin it and it has the best hook of the entire album, nothing comes close
Nov 18, 2015 best part of the song imo not a fan of this, tbh. Cause, one thing I never asked was where the f--- my deadbeat dad was f--- it, I guess he had trouble keeping up with every address But I'd have flipped every mattress, every rock and desert cactus Owned a collection of maps and followed my kids to the edge of the atlas n-----, you live in a desert?
Nov 18, 2015 No, he doesn't. But he would go look for his kids there, if he had to. Nothing wrong with that picture.
Nov 18, 2015 what? lol he is saying he would literally do anything to get his kids back...beautiful real emotion
Nov 18, 2015 ahhh, see thats where i differ, the cactus line is just "yikes" to me tbh, i mean i get it... but it makes you sit back like.. wait wtf are you saying pretty much everything else about the part i like tho i think the COMC line about not playing it at shows etc, is the best part as far as verses go but the hook is sick af, even if reused, i just think this song should have been sat on for a while like dre with TTMD, and made better, becase it couldve been so much more
Nov 18, 2015 ummm he is saying, he would flip every object possible to find his kids im not sure why you think its a bad line
Nov 18, 2015 not that often in reality lol, actually i hardly think you would hear it in a week of airtime shade 45 doesnt actually play much marshall unless you have the slider turned all the way up to "extra eminem"
Nov 18, 2015 The only problem with those lines is "own a collection of maps" because he's never heard of Google Maps or some form of GPS.
Nov 18, 2015 but no one played that song on the radio after 2004...which make the line cringe and awkward
Nov 18, 2015 thats actually beautiful on its own..the idea of "collection maps" adds so much to that part
Nov 18, 2015 yeah, like i said i get it, and i can appreciate the fact hes saying he'da done what his dad didnt, but in what case would he have to flip a cactus to find his kid tho is his kid hiding under a cactus im not saying its a bad line, i am however saying he could have said the same thing better, in a different way.
