Dec 31, 2014 Right, read the lyrics for the album with the least emphasis on them. You're not the brightest tool in the shed are you?
Dec 31, 2014 Lmao there's no "mysterious" element. Minimalistic beats are new to rap especially the style Ye did so ofc people gonna appreciate it. And you're using Yeezus to generalize all his work, he's actually a very dope lyricist on everything except Yeezus and CS, maybe Grad. No one is debating that bar for bar Yeezus was a lyrical masterpiece, but it was the themes and subliminal meanings that people appreciated.
Dec 31, 2014 Definitely no. I guess you are the smartest person in the forum. The presentation of everything is definitely mysterious. Or you are going to tell me that you thinked that the album was going to be like that? And i am not debating bar for bar. Is that you guys forced me to do that because i didn't know how to explain my point.
Dec 31, 2014 so back to the topic: you told us to the read the lyrics for the album with the least emphasis on the lyrics. The one that, like you said, was focused not the presentation, atmosphere, production, etc. you realize that's stupid right?
Dec 31, 2014 Wait wut I didnt' say "Read" the lyrics of the album, and i was saying that he focus a lot more in the presentation, atsmophere, production, etc than in the actual "rap" content of the track. Also is hard to have a discussion with a guy that call you "FriedSchizofaggot" lmao
Dec 31, 2014 Unpredictable =/= mysterious, bro. Wolf surprised me, Ferg Forever surprised me, I wouldn't call those projects mysterious. And I get your point, Yeezus lyrics when taken at face value are s---. I agree. It's when you dig deeper into Yeezus that you appreciate it.
Dec 31, 2014 I see your point. Is just my opinion, not telling you to stop enjoying Kanye haha btw Wolf surprised me also. What a great record.
Dec 31, 2014 Back to the thread, i don't know if this one is unpopular but Colossus is the best track of Wolf.
Dec 31, 2014 ok track is tyler's opinion that xv is a--- unpopular? even tho it still has 4.5 stars on itunes? inb4 sales don't matter and btw
Dec 31, 2014 There is definitely an argument to be made that there are some weak lyrics on Yeezus but lol @ citing New Slaves of all songs as an example. The appeal of Yeezus is more about the energy of the record over anything for me. Different moods build and dissipate frequently and it somehow manages to be simultaneously cohesive and disjointed. There's a lot packed into 40 minutes.
