Jul 23, 2015 J. Cole can rap, the problem is that he's uninteresting. Thanks to his incessant need self produce, he crafts beats with himself in mind, which eliminates the challenge and causes a lot of his songs to be boring. Same thing goes for BIG K.R.I.T. He's pretty much the create-a-rapper character you'd make in a video game.

Whether it is self produced or not. 40 creates "drake beats" for drake, a lot of future's or young thugs production share a similar cadence to the rest of their respective music. Your argument is nonsense to me. If anything makes people think j cole is boring, it would be the fact that the majority of his writing revolves around himself or his feelings as a person and he does not have a big eccentric enough personality to really catch a casual listener's ear and keep them interested. I don't find krit boring at all, but i can see his accent putting off a lot of people.
