Who thought it was a good idea to INTRODUCE new characters in a season finale? You bring the new characters in the show early in the season, and build on them throughout the rest of the episodes from there.

Screenwriting 101. What a disaster.

Oh stop. It was written incredibly well.

Overall it was a good episode, just not a good finale. I loved many of the scenes, and I'd give this episode high marks if there was one more after it, but I really can't justify ending off this season with such an anti-climactic finish.

ya the mom and quinn story lines were written so well what was I think

Also, if ANYTHING the show should be getting praises for the "aftermath" approach they chose for the finale rather than a typical plot twist heavy route. I was waiting for Quinn to get sniped or some s--- the entire time because it was a finale.

But they didn't handle this approach well enough. And the writing was awful for a lot of it perry f--- off.

I'm glad I learned that "Pakistan was a mindfuck" for everyone like ten times. very deep stuff here

Do you know what writing actually means? It's not just dialoge. It's how the entire episode is crafted, from pacing to dialoge to atmosphere to plot twists. You can't say you liked the slower pace and then say you hated the writing.

Regardless, for 4 season you can't stop criticizing the emotional aspects of the show. I hope you realize this isn't 24. If you want explosions with no character development then you're watching the wrong show.

The Quinn thing, apart from the fact that you can tell they just came up with it this season, makes prefect sense in the context of this character. He's scrambling to leave his old life behind, and finding a significant other is the step he needed to take.

And the more I think about it, introducing Carrie's mom at the end was a great choice. Did you really want her in the first episode of the season and then become a main character for that season? Obviously not. She addressed an important part of Carrie's character which ran parallel to the Quinn storyline.

And what are you talking about? They mentioned Pakistan like twice, and it was the center of f---ing 11 episodes prior so I'm glad they didn't just get home and never mention it again.

"My wife made lasagna." Is also the best line of the season. Either that or "I'm a Jew" from episode 7.

I'll leave you with this: I thought this season was great

And yes I CAN say Im a fan of using a slower episode to end a fast paced season while still having my own gripes about this finale - what that means is that I don't think it was executed well enough but that it could've been. I like what they were going for in theory. As for what actually happened, there were a bunch of lazy moments. Maybe if I pull up the episode again when im on my laptop I can point em out so that you can tell how it's actually all just going over my head

Yup, there's zero hype surrounding it. Only reason I know about it is because Ray Donovan is over. I'll be watching but don't anticipate it like I used to.

I thought the last season was very good, maybe except the last episode.

Also season 5 has received very favourable reviews so far.
