Dec 10, 2014 For me: before that I knew of them individually - I liked a few Royce songs, I knew a few Crooked I verses from Chamillionaire songs, didn't really listen to Budden or Joell Ortiz.
Dec 10, 2014 I knew of all of the artists individually before the group even formed. I was never a fan of Crooked I, but I was aware of him when he was signed to Death Row. He was being marketed as the next West Coast Savior back then (there was a dude who used to post on D12World who was obsessed with Crooked). First time I heard of Joell was in 2000 when he appeared on Kool G. Rap's Giancana album. I also met Joell years later when he signed to Aftermath. I've known of Budden since his first album in 2003 and I've known about Royce since SSLP dropped in 1999. I've known about the group since the very first song they did together in 2008, which also featured another rapper named Nino Bless, who unfortunately didn't become a member of the group. Not that SH have done anything monumental, but they're at least getting some bread, who knows what Nino is doing. It's definitely not on the same financial level as SH. I remember when Royce and Budden almost had beef and Mistah F.A.B. was dissing Royce following some battle they had. This happened right before that first SH song.
Dec 13, 2014 I heard about them through a teaching assistant at school about 5 years ago, he used to say do a bit of work and he'll write some tracks for me to listen to at lunch, lol. First SH tracks I heard were Move On and Sound Off.
Dec 13, 2014 royce around the first time i heard SSLP, but SH was the first time I heard The One, so that must be around 2009. didn't have a clue to who they were though
Dec 13, 2014 @Tone Riggz You follow the Fab/Royce beef at all? I remember flipping out over Who Got Bodied. Fab is battling again soon in one of the leagues.
Dec 13, 2014 Joe and Royce fan, first time i discovered them was when the original Slaughterhouse song leaked on Rap Basement. They wernt a group right then but afterwards they put out all those youtube videos on Joey's channel (cheah201) discussing them coming together a--- a group. BTW that YT channel was hilarious from 08-10. Couple of the classics
Dec 13, 2014 I did follow it at the time. If I remember correctly, both Royce and FAB had had some good disses.
