Dec 18, 2014 Yeah seriously, say what you will about Game's music but he really did put me on Kendrick, as he did a lot of people from what I can see, even before 'The City' for some. At a point where he was making average music, he put Kendrick on an incredible song so props to him
Dec 18, 2014 Used to be a huge Game fan and I'd buy all his mixtapes, so I first heard "K-Dot" on The Cypher from BWS Journal Vol.1 and then on Cali Niggaz from You Know What It Is Vol. 4, but he really didn't make much of an impression on me back then. A few years later I downloaded his Overly Dedicated mixtape because his name was buzzing online, and I liked a few tracks. Then I picked up Section 80 when it dropped and became a huge fan. He really has come a long way since his K-Dot days.
Dec 18, 2014 Jay Rock had his featured on some songs back when I first discovered Jay Rock through "Blood n-----"
Dec 19, 2014 Didn't know it at the time, but I first heard Kendrick on the hook of the leaked version of Jay Rock's All My Life back in 2009: Then I heard him on various features (Hood Gon Love It, The City, Buried Alive) until I finally decided to check out section.80.
Dec 19, 2014 First heard him on Game's "The City", Then heard him on that slim The Mobster Track, then The Recipe leaked and I was hooked.
Dec 26, 2014 I have a friend where we always try to put each other up on new music. I'm a little bit more picky than he is though so when he first told me to listen to this new project called OD by a guy named Kendrick Lamar I kinda shrugged it off for a couple weeks until I saw something about it somewhere else (maybe 2DB or something like that). A couple weeks before GKMC dropped I was telling my new girlfriend about him (because she's mainly into Hip Hop too) so she YouTube'd "Kendrick Lamar sucks" to prove to me that she thought he was terrible and plenty of other people would too. I think from doing that she first heard Opposite Attract and he instantly became her new favorite rapper lol
Dec 26, 2014 The Game song the city was the first time I can remember hearing him and I was just like d--- who is this guy? I may of heard him earlier but it was the first time I actually looked up who the feature was and looked him up. Then it hit me, oh this is that guy getting all that hype Kendrick. Quick search led me to OD and then Section80. Rest as they say is history,
Dec 26, 2014 back when Assassins Creed Revelations had its e3 trailer. it sampled an epic song. I remember watching the trailer multiple times. then like 2 weeks later i wason itunes and saw section.80 and his song the spiteful chant sampled the same song from the trailer so i bought it and ever since then have been amazed with his music
Dec 27, 2014 Was watching TheNeedleDrop on YouTube, his top albums of 2011 and Section 80 was in there so I checked it out.
Dec 27, 2014 Now that I think about it, this might have been the case for me too. He plugged P&P1.5 right?
Mar 17, 2015 Almost the same as the OP really. One of the first songs i remember featuring him was The City. Really enjoyed the song. Got MAAD City when it came out. Enjoyed it. Only listened to Section 80 once, that will be changing in the future!
