Oct 10, 2015 psychological testing for anyone who owns a gun. And perhaps a few sessions with a therapist. There has to be a way to see who can own a gun. To be able to decide who can handle such a responsibility. I believe the right to bear arms should remain but it should be much harder to get one. My ideas are 1. psychological testing (With use of a polygraph) 2. Mandated Therapy I also believe the same thing should be done for Police Officers but that's a whole other issue.
Oct 10, 2015 It still wouldn't help the case. People with problems could still steal guns from their parents(for example).
Oct 10, 2015 It's become so common that they make all the employees at my job go through "active shooter training" once a year. Not sure if anybody else does this? Basically teaches us how to survive a shooting at our workplace.
Oct 10, 2015 True. That was just what was off the top of my head. I'm hesitant to do away with guns because people need a way to protect themselves. Sometimes against those who are supposed to protect us. This problem is very dynamic and one thing/person wont fix it. It's going to take all of us changing the way we do things in America. At the very least, this country really needs to have a discussion. Edit: Perhaps when one person in the family buys a gun, everyone must go through testing/therapy. There are problems with that solution but it was just an idea I had.
