Jun 26, 2017 it's got no competition though A-league is played constantly in 30 degrees so the standard isnt that great
Jun 26, 2017 Yeh but he didn't really mean it literally. It's like me sayin thugs goat all the time or kodak etc. Doesn't need to be dissected literally. But if AFL was on a global scale i think it'd definitely be in the convo but obviously outside of aus people don't grow up on it soit'll never have a chance in that discussion
Jun 26, 2017 Max. You're argument was that rain affected AFL games wouldn't make it worthy of GOAT sports status. But then a few posts before you said that a close AFL game is as exciting as they come. Rain affected games are exactly that. Wouldn't that be a positive?
Jun 26, 2017 ...what? No idea what weathers got to do with it. Also it having no competition is on purpose. A league couldn't survive hwad to head with it. Also it competes with NRL every weekend
Jun 26, 2017 Put it up against A-League and AFL easily wins out. Heck, we're up against NRL and we smashed that yearly.
Jun 26, 2017 i get what you're trying to say, but the actual standard of play decreases in rain i don't really wanna carry on with the whole rain s---, next time it's pouring down in a game you'll realise what i'm saying
Jun 26, 2017 It's a GOAT sport regardless of rain is my argument. You put ANY sport under the duress of rain or any other weather extremes and the standard would decrease across the board not just AFL.
Jun 26, 2017 AFL is the biggest sport in NSW as far as attendance but NRL is the biggest as far as broadcast and broadcast deals ($)
Jun 26, 2017 do i have to mention again that A-league is constantly been played in 30 degrees or more? ofc the standards gonna be better and it'l smash it but if you gave the A-league 20 years in winter, let it mature back into a competitive league it'l come good, ideally Australia needs another big sport
Jun 26, 2017 But it won't. It'll die out. It CAN'T get to that point. You out it up against afl for 20 years itll be dead in 5.
Jun 26, 2017 No s--- mate. When I mentioned A-League I actually meant put it in the winter season so that it could go h2h against AFL. And AFL would still win out.
Jun 26, 2017 yeah you're not listening i was saying the standard decreases way more than any other sport but lets move on
Jun 26, 2017 SO WHAT?! The standard will decrease if you have em playing in darwin every week in 40 degree weather
Jun 26, 2017 dude you're not listening either, regardless of what anyone says professional soccer in Australia has been held back, f---in h--- they brought liverpool over and got 90k attendance, the people are there to support it, but the standard is so bad no one wants to watch believe me i've followed both leagues for over 10 years now
Jun 26, 2017 They're there to support worldwide superstars. Not people who have side jobs to support them playing who are s---. Tell me what will happen in your head if we somehow put A-League soccer against AFL in winter.
