Jun 26, 2017 it's not even an argument lol it'd smash it but thats like giving birth to twins, beefing one up, starve the other one and then tell them to fight at 18 ofc AFL will win lol
Jun 26, 2017 Or its one country being passionate about the sport they developed themselves rather than adopting one from overseas
Jun 26, 2017 i don't think either of you would disagree that soccer is held back in this country personally i think it's because AFL don't want competition, but some A-League games this year got 45k attendance, it is catching, at a verrrryyyyy slow rate
Jun 26, 2017 You're trying to discredit Aussie Rules from the GOAT sports argument by saying wet weather footy is bog standard but I'd argue that wet weather footy trumps other sporting codes that have to deal with rain as well.
Jun 26, 2017 i like both sports and i don't see your point AFL is supported because it's our national sport, it should be supported by every single Australian because it is a unique thing that only we have
Jun 26, 2017 AFL holding back soccer in Australia now... I've heard everything. If A-League wants to move seasons it can. The NBL used to be a winter season before it changed on it's own accord to become a summer-based season. What's stopping A-League from moving to winter? Only they know the answer and that is they don't believe they can beat both the AFL and NRL in it's ratings for both television as well as attendances. Simple as that.
Jun 26, 2017 With no competition. A league averages about 15000 with no competiton. AFLs is 34000. Honestly you call it holding it back logic calls it helping it because it WOULD NOT survive going in winter against out dominant sport
Jun 26, 2017 lol a league will never b s--- because there will always be at least 5 better soccer leagues to give a f--- about afl will always be the best afl league in the world so ofc its gonna always be bigger tf dont tell me noone has made this point comparing the two is skraight r-----ed
Jun 26, 2017 yeah that's just my personal opinion, the standard of the game goes from a 9 to a 3 when it starts raining whereas in soccer for example it only goes from a 9 to a 6 or 7 it just totally relies on ball control with hands, which when everything is wet gets really hard to control
Jun 26, 2017 i'm not arguing that tho i'm taking AFL completely out of the scenario in that argument, if it was never created and it was played in winter, the standard would be better
Jun 26, 2017 I have watched it a few times. Looks a great sport. Very good athletes & the kicking is good too. It is the most popular sport in Australia?
