Mar 3, 2015 @shadyslim555 First off, what hypocrisy? Don't just say things. Give examples. This applies to ANYTHING in life. Secondly, from a content POV this ENTIRE song is supposed to be simplistic/straightforward. It's supposed to be to stunt...the forrest gump line, all state, etc are all supposed to be funny. and they are. then there are lines like "light skinned slave" which are actually brilliant from a social POV. Also how is he overrated as an "MC/Rapper" when literally no Kanye fan every brings up his rapping as his best aspect. This is an argument Kanye critics like to bring up themselves and act like it's actually a big deal, when in reality its a non starter. Literally EVERY Kanye fan will agree with you about Kanye's skills a rapper (he's great, not incredible or anything though). You can't actually point out anyone overrating his rapping, can you? LMFAO so you're gonna dismiss ALL of 808s & Heartbreak, and then shrug aside any criticisms for something as awful as Stronger Than I Was? You're ridiculous. When has Em tried to make a song about "flossing," actually done it well, and still been "slaughtered?" GIVE EXAMPLES. I'll wait. The new day/n----s in paris vs smack that/no apologies comparison is f---ing stupid. People aren't ignoring Eminem's "diversity" they're focusing on the fact that smack that is pretty god d--- average. People praise Kanye in the same breath because BOTH new day/n----s in paris are great. How do you not get that? Oh and feel free to show me any Eminem song that's as involved sonically as All Day. Like I said, give examples. Actually make your case instead of speaking in generalities. And you're obviously confused as f--- if you like All Day but don't like the s--- it's clearly building off of from Yeezus like Black skinhead, on site, new slaves. not ONE eminem fan as ever proven to be a rational human being. EVER. smfh
Mar 3, 2015 Em did with MMLP2 everything that he failed to do with Recovery. The first time his lyrics had an actual impact again. Bad Guy alone. I can't believe how stans don't appreciate that song and I'm talking about the entirity of it, not just the third and fourth verse. The first 2 are great set up verses and the way he builds up to the climax is just amazing. I don't remember a song that has had this much impact with not only me, but the whole fanbase. Give me one verse off of Recovery that has had more impact from a fan point of view. I think we all believed that it was going to be the last album after what he said on that outro. Then you gto RoR, which is another thing Em did right on this project compared to Recovery. The fusion of hip hop and rock on a stripped down beat. So Far is amazing too and I'm glad that him and Kendrick didn't do the predictable s--- but actually made something different, and it worked. The main reason why people don't like Recovery is because of it's production. It's all over the place. Em wanted to experiment but at the same time keep it safe. That was the thing that f----- that album up. If he would have went with stripped down beats, alongside of a better delivery (which he has on the LP2), the album wouldn't have been received so badly. Em didn't just have better content on MMLP2, but he was a better rapper, sounded better and this time around, didn't fail with his experiments. STIW is debatable as he has already done this in the past, this time around people didn't receive it as much. MMLP2 is by far the best project he has dropped since TES. No competition.
Mar 3, 2015 I agree that MMLP2 is his best project since TES, but is really far from the quality of his 3 first proyects. Survival, So Much Better and STIW are still tracks that for Prime Eminem will be unnaceptables. Lets put it like this: MMLP2 DELUXE Edition got like 4 9.5-10 tracks: Rap God, Bad Guy, Groundhog Day and Evil Twin. Almost every track of The Eminem Show is a 10/10. And ShadyXV was a stepback if we compare it with MMLP2. Marshall needs to stop trying with so many flows and production styles and s--- and being a more focused artist. His MMLP2 flow was really good, why he cant just rap like that and try to improve in the other aspects where he is not as good as he was in his prime?
Mar 3, 2015 nah, Survival is good, So Much Better is even (much) better and Stronger Than I Was is okay. his flow was very experimental on XV, but Vegas, PK, Fine Line, GoF and Right For Me are dope songs.
Mar 3, 2015 GoF flow in the first verse was really awful. Fine Line flow was really similar to his MMLP2 flow, which i like althought i dont like the song as much as a lot of people do. Right For Me flow is in my opinion annoying and didnt fit the beat really well, and the fact that is the first lyrical miracle track that Marshall released since Infinite doesnt help neither. I really enjoy his Vegas and PK flows but between those tracks and Groundhog Day or Evil Twin...
Mar 3, 2015 So much better? That song sounds like it was recorded around that time lmao .. Survival isn't bad by any manes and STIW is basically the same concept as Hailie's song just not pulled off as good. And there are quite a good amount of songs on TES that aren't straight 10/10 Business, Square Dance, Drips, Say what you say, Superman, Dads gone Crazy for instance .. TES is an easy classic, obviously, MMLP2 will never be that. But saying that MMLP2 is far behind his first 3 is blasphemy. I'd even go as far and say it's better than SSLP but that's just my opinion. I just don't see the appeal in most of those outdated generic beats. And what has XV to do anything with MMLP2 lmao .. XV is not even an Em project. He was just flexing his skills. Obviously not a cohesive project but still a solid label sampler that was basically just made for promotion. And there are several more tracks on MMLP2 that are top tier
Mar 3, 2015 People will grow to appreciate it, similar with Relapse, it'll never reach classic status though it has classic tracks like Rap God and Bad Guy
Mar 3, 2015 lol you're right, but who really gives a s--- what the people here think? if you like his music, don't let the opinions here influence you
Mar 3, 2015 it might get the classic status when he retires from what i've seen, people here hate relapse even more than encore lmao
Mar 3, 2015 d--- Notalius. You compare the concepts of STIW and Hailie's Song and later call my comment a "blasphemy"? What the f---? Square Dance and My Dad Gone Crazy are 10/10 tracks. Only 4 tracks are not 10/10 in the LP and they are not even close to being bad. I am saying that Eminem prove with ShadyXV that he doesnt need to experiment anymore. I am putting ShadyXV as an example of how Eminem can f--- up his next album if he does the same thing he did on that LP.
Mar 3, 2015 people on here hate pretty much everything about Em, yet it's pretty much 80% - 90% stans on here.. closet stans mainly
Mar 3, 2015 So you are actually denying that Em was basically going after the same structure/concept he did on Hailie's song for STIW? lmao My dads gone crazy is not a 10/10 and if you ask most fans they'd tell you it's his weakest outro after Encore and Recovery ofc..
Mar 3, 2015 Yeah, ofc im f---ing denying that, are you serious? Stronger Than I Was is another cliche track about Kim. His lyrics couldnt be more s-----y on that song, and his singing was awful. Are you really going to compare that mediocre track with Hailie's Song and put that sentence with a "lmao" so it sounds less stupid? One thing is concept and other thing is structure. Weakest outro? There are people which only like the track for the third verse. You are unrecognizable.
