Sep 29, 2015 Yeah, it's not that I'm too mature for video games, just that I have much less time now and other interests take precedent. That's why 5-10 hour indie steam games are perfect because I can complete them before something gets in the way and I lose interest @Meero
Sep 29, 2015 I DL'd both WD games, Wolf Among Us, and the GOT game during the last sale. I beat Wolf Among Us and am on ep 4 of TWD E1. Funny cuz I just started playing TWD after not playing for almost two months, I can't even finish a game that short in a timely manner.
Sep 29, 2015 I remember when I was 14 and my mom worked Saturdays from 6 to 2:30. I used to set my alarm to 6:30 so I could start practicing (I was trying to go MLG lol). I'd play until around 2, stop and shower and s---. Then when she got home I'd say I had been doing homework and would ask if I could play video games. I was putting in 10+ hours a day on the weekends lol. Those were the days
Sep 30, 2015 I've been sayin this for years. The OG games from when we were kids are so much better and have so much more replay value than current games. I think I saw you're 20, I'm 22 next month and I still have never had a game get me as invested as the Banjo Kazooies and Mario Karts and the Zeldas back in the day. Personally I don't play video games anymore, I just got to the point I figured I need to invest more time into reality than get invested in s--- that isn't real. That's just for my life though. I'm missin a bit of NBA2K and would love to play the new Tony Hawk. Maybe get a game that triggers nostalgia? Still that might just be a short term fix.
Sep 30, 2015 I got the same. My issue is the time and interest as well. I find games now are so huge. It's amazing how much detail developers put into them. But at the same time there's so much in the game that if you want a quick little power play of 30 mins you won't accomplish much. I say this in terms of Witcher 3 or Elder Scrolls. Those games are massive and have a lot of detail in them. If I can only play 30 mins at a time or play it for a bit and take months off (last time I played Witcher 3 was in June) and then get back to it I'd be so confused as to what I was doing or where I was going. The last game to really hook me in was Elder Scrolls Skyrim. I played that like crazy for the first while. Got bored, picked it up about 6 months later and got hooked again. Got bored/lost interest rinse and repeat. Super Mario Maker currently has me hooked if I can play it. Mainly because it's short bursts of fun. Creating a level isn't hard. You can create a good one in a couple of hours. It's not too much detail and simple to pick up and play. Same with Mario Kart 8 and New SUper Mario Bros Wii U. I'm glad I got a Wii U, I know everyone laughs and says it's for children but the games are fast simple and nostalgic as well.
Sep 30, 2015 Yeah maturing has very little to do with not liking video games. My dad is 58 and has played video games since the 80's.
Oct 11, 2015 i just have a huge backlog that makes it hard. especially because my wife is more important, and i have work and house things to do, cleaning etc. when weekends come around it always feels like this is the weekend i can invest a lot in a game for once but i always get busy with Life. Right now my backlog is huge, and the wife does game a bit too but same issue as me, work and house things. Games that are 10-14 hours arent bad, we can get one done a week maybe, but Until Dawn is only 7 hours long and shes been playing it for a week now. Most people who have that game already beat it 100%. Meanwhile we have a backlog with 15 games right now, 9 of which are over 22 hours, and thats JUST MAIN campaigns. I Agree games are too long nowadays, itll be refreshing though with WWE and BO3 because i just can fit in a few matches in 30 mins and it doesnt feel like its a lot to accomplish. Backlog: Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain (40 -70 hours at least), Metal Gear Rising, Metal Gear Solid 2, Tales of Symphonia (50hrs.... at least), ToS Dawn of New World (30 hours), KH BBS, Borderlands 2 (30hrs), Kingdoms of Amalur (30 hours), Evil Within, Lego Marvel, Little Big Planet, Deus Ex:HR (22 hours), WET, Tomb Raider, GTA 4 (25 hours), Infamous 2, Until Dawn. add in WWE 2k16 and Black Ops 3 soon. ugh.
