Dec 14, 2019I thought artists specific sections worked much better, as someone new can easily see where to go for an artist they like. Even if some of the sections were dead at times, it still makes things easier to find threads you might be interested.
Also as Cy mentioned, the notifications for 3.0 are broken. I shouldn’t have to clear all.

I think the plus system was a good way to give people incentive to post without relying on a vetting process that's 100% subjective. Definitely should look into this process.
Also the internet's a vastly different place than it was back then, maybe I'm just older and less of an a------ now but I feel like forums in general are a lot less ruthless than they used to be.

only thing really keeping this forum alive is Eminem. Unless there are any news related to Em, the forum is kinda dead. I'm not really sure what can be done about that since the forum was Eminem oriented from the beginning.Immy, Shady, Evad and 1 other person like this. -

I understand the original purpose of the thread and thought I made it quite clear that the homepage and site navigation were two of the main deterrents of the site that needed to be fixed. You had made a post doing a side-by-side comparison claiming that you don’t understand how anyone can view the previous being better than the new version. That’s where all the small potatoes came from, because although a lot was made better, not all of it was and there could definitely be improvements. If a complete overhaul of the site was being considered, I figured the small potatoes could be addressed to help improve things just that little bit extra since changes would be being made anyways.
There is definitely a clear line between the important stuff and the small potatoes, and I appreciate you delving into your opinions on those small potatoes as much as you did, but again, it seems you are getting the impression that I thought those minor things were “make-or-break” items of the site, to which I will reiterate that was clearly not the case. Focus on fixing the main stuff, and if you have time, in the process consider small potato improvements.Ordinary Joel, Slyk and Bojack like this. -

As far as the larger pieces you disagree with: I stand by my statements of removing the sidebar in the thread and sxn views (at the very least the thread views), while I have always supported a sidebar on the homepage. I hope my new comments clarify my reasonings a bit better for you. Part of the navigation bar issue I mentioned was addressed with the music sxn consolidation, and the removal was only a suggestion if an improved/modified version of the navigation bar couldn't be made (if we reverted back to the 2.0 homepage). I very well think we could keep it up top outside of the homepage view the way it is now, just don't know how to address the redundancy of the homepage and the navigation bar (which isn't necessarily a huge issue; just don't want it be used as a reason to support not going back to the 2.0 homepage).Zeugma, Bojack and Ordinary Joel like this.
