Dec 9, 2015I work in psych, and I've seen real suicide attempts, and people who have lost everything in their lives, of all sorts of ages.
All I can tell you is this... Life isn't ever going to give you what you want, unless you go out and get it. This is a cut throat world, point blank. The way you're feeling now? You're probably going to feel ten times worse at some point in your life. It's how things go.
The only thing you can do with your life is be proactive and MAKE a change. You can sit here and say "I've tried, it doesn't work" but that's bs.
Whatever your reason is for being depressed, whether it's clinical, genetic or circumstantial, get up and fix it. If it's clinical depression, go to a hospital and get treated for it. There are outlets that you can use to feel better.
If it's circumstantial? You have to have a survivor's mentality. Have laser focus on your goals and achieve them. It's seriously all in your outlook on life, if that's the case.
You might need therapy, you might need medication, or you might need to re-evaluate your outlook and your goals.
The only people that I see that come through my job that I completely understand why they get suicidal are people who lose their kids/family, or geriatric patients who are bed ridden and have ZERO life but pain.
I'm not trying to be a d-ck, either.

@Luke I can honestly say that for me, being with friends and doing typical teenage s--- like drugs really makes me appreciate life. I don't care if that's an unhealthy life, it's one that I enjoy. If someone asked me if I wanted to relive this last year I'd say yeah, and I hope it continues. You just have to find what you enjoy, and make every effort to constantly be around that thing or person. My comments may be negative, but they're true. Life is s-----y and it was s-----y of your parents to force another creature into consciousness, but while you're here do whatever you can to make it as enjoyable an experience as possible because after this you'll be as nonexistent as before you were born. In my eyes life is like going to Disney world when you're poor, you only get one shot so go there and tear up as much s--- as possible, have as much fun as you can at anyone's expense because at the end of the day the only thing that keeps life from being s-----y is moments of happiness and death. Idk that's how I feel at leastOrdinary Joel, because the internet, Chad Warden and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Well, d---, I figured he was young, not that young though. Regardless, life isn't as bad as he thinks. He has to break out of that bubble of his. He has to see things he hasn't seen before (not as graphical as I posted) but, go look at the homeless in his town or poverty areas. I am sure he passes them sometimes somewhere. It is just learning to appreciate what we have and who is in our life is an important milestone to reach. We see that we do have things and people to live for and that we are being relied on by others in life.because the internet, gorealsteady and Pato v3 like this. -
