Patches are what worked for me.

Tried the vape thing but it never worked. And everyone I know who transfered to vaping ended up vaping more than they smoked.

Patches is basically cold turkey without the uncontrollable nicotine cravings. And you're quitting the mental addiction of having something in your mouth to inhale.

If you're ready to quit, patches will get you there. But you really need to want to quit for them to work. All it takes is a little will power but not nearly as much as cold turkey which was out of the question for me.

Anyway, one of the hardest parts will be avoiding the triggers. That cigarette after dinner. No more of that. No more 5 min smoke breaks at work etc.. s--- sucks but you eventually get used to it and the sense of accomplishment helps you stay on track.

Think about the advantages. The cost, the health, the smell. You don't realize how bad cigs stinks until you've quit. The s--- stinks. You stink and don't realize it.

And try to remember those very first times you tried to smoke when you were 13 or whatever. It tasted terrible and made you feel sick. That's because it's literal poison.

if you do go the vaping route — I know they make vape juice with 0% nic. With smoking/drugs a lot of it is the ritual aspect of it whether that's rolling, taking a smoke break, mixing a drink, whatever, so it might be easier to keep that ritual aspect while removing the harmful effects. I'm not sure if there's anything harmful in the 0% nic juice but it's certainly less harmful than nic at least.

I like this approach. I think it'd probably be the best for my type of life and personality.
Replacing a bad habit with a good one instead of giving in to anxiety and desperation, lol. Whenever I get cravings, I should go out for a run or do pushups or whatever and focus on that to get my mind off cigs.

There are professionals who help thru these, some countries provide it for free to their citizens. I have never been a guy who was addicted to anything. Smoking never really appealed to me. It's not like I don't ever smoke, I smoke few cigarattes a year on some occassions but that's it, I have no idea how someone can like to spend money on those tasteless things lmao. Never ever bought or paid for a cigaratte ever... So obviously, you're not like me in that sense. Some people can just be determined enough to stop smoking and stick with it but I think it's not for most of the smokers...

eh I tried quitting by replacing it with vaping. It's not the same as smoking a cig so you don't treat it like one and keep hitting it, getting more nicotine then you normally would. Vaping also wasn't the same "reward" for me, so after trying it for awhile I went back to cigs and was smoking way more due to the tolerance I got from vaping. While it might be better for your then cigs, you're still addicted and honestly look like a bigger loser (although less smelly) It makes you so mentally weak having to plan things around when and where you'll be able to take a smoke break. If you're serious about quitting pick a start date and finish your last pack before that day and then quit. Set a goal of 3 weeks. If you can make it that far you're already done with the hard part. The rest is just getting over the queues of when you would usually have one, like after food, a drink, waking up, etc
