Aren't you the one who said women lie about getting r---d for "clout?" Obviously it's not a contest and obviously both are terrible, but I'm not the one insisting that one of them happens much more often than it actually does. Inflating false r--- statistics just enforces the notion that women have a reason to lie about being r---d. It's equating something that happens rarely to something that happens every day.

Do you know how long a r--- trial lasts? Do you know how hard it is to prove beyond reasonable doubt unless there was a witness and/or they are on the scene with a r--- kit within minutes? Do you know how much they're scrutinized and questioned and cross-examined? Why would any woman choose to go through this when many women who actually WERE r---d choose not to because it takes so much time and there's so much red tape and emotional trauma to go through. Let alone the stigma that comes with being a r--- victim.

False accusations happen, and they're a terrible thing. I'm not debating that. But they're a barely a blip on the radar in comparison to the bigger problem at hand. It's frustrating to me that people's response to "lots of women are coming forward and outing their rapists and harassers" isn't "yay women I'm glad we're moving forward as a society and helping denormalize sexual harassment/assault." It's "YEAH BUT what about the men who get falsely accused a bunch of them are probably lying."

What reason would a woman have to lie about getting r---d? It makes no sense to me.

Women lying about r--- is something that exists (even as rare as it maybe) so there is a reason for women to lie about getting r---d, otherwise it wouldn't happen, and I never said they don't get scrutinized and r--- trials aren't difficult and sometimes impossible to prove.

So sick of people with this linear thinking saying "this is bad but the other thing is way worse so I'm going to defend this other thing", how about we just say both things are disgusting and shouldn't happen and leave it at that.

And yeah I did say it because it's true, there's tons of reasons why women lie about getting r---d, not once did I say it was nearly as common as women who actually do get r---d.

See this is the "all lives matter" type s--- again. OF COURSE it's a terrible thing that men have been falsely accused of r---. But it's not the pervasive issue in society that women getting r---d and sexually harassed is. The "can't we just agree they're both bad?" is the same s--- as "can't we agree that white lives matter too?" No s--- white lives matter too, but trying to shove that into the mix just dilutes and weakens what the underlying issue is.

This is nothing like all lives matter, ALM is a movement made for the explicit purpose to disregard a real issue, ALM doesn't stand for any real issue it just attempts to belittle one that is, people die everyday, but blm is specific towards hate crimes and alm trying to treat it like it isn't an issue does not help anyone of any ethnicity

False accusations on the other hand is an actual issue and it shouldn't be talked about as if it isn't, saying false accusations don't matter because r--- itself is more prevelant is just as much of a knee jerk response as the opposite, i understand that if we can lessen r--- itself than false accusations will in turn be weeded out, but telling victims that what they're going through doesn't matter doesn't help either issue, its just dismissive

That's totally fair, it's not a perfect comparison and as I said I apologize for getting pissed. I'm just sick of seeing people on this forum saying women falsely accuse men of r--- for "clout" when in actuality false accusations are pretty rare. It doesn't mean those that do happen don't matter -- but inflating how often women falsely accuse men of r--- trivializes the stories of women coming forward. And obviously that's another f----- up aspect of false accusations: those that do happen make people even warier of believing women who come forward.

I know it's something I let my emotions get the best of me about cuz I have friends who have been r---d and it pisses me off when people try to trivialize what happened to them. It's just f----- to me that people are so quick to spout off about false accusations but give f--- all about real ones.

Agreed, i just don't think the tweet communicates it in this sort of way very well, if that's what she meant then she sure as h--- didnt have to come off so hostile, talking like trump may get you attention but it's not exactly great articulation
