Are we not allowed to call someone overrated? Everybody calls Jay , Nas , 3K overrated but there isnt a problem.

you said Ice Cube has 2 classics but his catologue wouldn't make top 30. his first 4 albums are classics (first 3 are widely considered classics just like illmatic is). he even had a couple good albums outside of his first 4. He really didn't hold back on any political issues back in the early 90s and he IS a great writer. the difference between Cube to nas and Jay is those 2 have filler scattered throughout their discography. wether this is subjective or not your opinion is still f---ing r-----ed and I'd hate to be you.

Jay Z is better than Ice Cube. I like Cube but Jay is much better when it comes to clever bars, metaphors, similes, etc...

And I've read his autobiography on his life, which includes the lyrics to what he views to be some of his best songs in his discography. The man is lyrically genius, and if you did the research, you would know that Jay is better than Cube.

Also, Nas and Jay still have careers/placement in the industry 20 years after they came up in the rap game. You can't say the same thing about Cube in the mid to late 2000s.

technical lyricism isn't always the superior to content though, Jay had 8 albums since 2000 (and a couple classics) compared to Ice Cube who only released 4 since then, so of course he still has placement in music industry. I could also argue that jay z hasn't put anything out that's still relevent. Thanks to the NWA movie more people still listen to f--- the police & his first album to this day.
