May 18, 2015 Remember when Jay-Z said he was retiring with the Black Album? 12 years later he's releasing albums..
May 18, 2015 I think he'll eventually retire from solo albums but will always produce and do occasional features.
May 18, 2015 yeah but he'll prolly be bored if he retires from solo albums. maybe we get more features then
May 18, 2015 In regards to MMLP2, I think a lot of people look at it the wrong way. MMLP was Marshall in his twenties. MMLP2 is him in his forties. Two totally different perspectives. MMLP was better but tbh I still love Legacy and Rhyme or Reason. The album was decent/average. Best since TES for me but nowhere close to his original work. It's hard to recapture that raw/invincible energy he had when he was young I'm sure.
May 18, 2015 And if it were his last Idk what I would think. I would hope it were a great album. If the album is in anyway thematically similar to SouthPaw I think we could get some great TES/Recovery type music. TES sound for rock/rage filled tracks similar to Till I Collapse/Soldier/Sing For The Moment/WTMS. And Recovery because the character in SouthPaw also goes through things similar to Em which is what led him to make Recovery. Last or not I still look forward to it.
May 18, 2015 He should've saved encores concept for his real last album and went out like that. Encore had a bunch of garbage on it but it had great conceptual potential. The CD with his suicide letter to fans, the crowd cheering his name, the final thought skit, him shooting into the crowd, then himself, then his funeral. It could've been classic..
May 18, 2015 Exactly. Once he retires from his own solo career he'll be fully focused on running his label. Which means doing production and features for his artists.
May 18, 2015 he will say something like "it's my biggest album since..." and Royce and Mr Porter will say the lirycs gave them nightmares.
