Jun 29, 2015 Are you saying that the one who made Runaway, Blame Game, Gone, Jesus Walks, Never Let Me Down etc etc isn't a real artist?
Jun 29, 2015 i've posted about this on here and quoted that post multiple times. kanye doesn't use ghostwriters.
Jun 29, 2015 If you think Kanye uses ghostwriters then you should also believe that all of your all time favorite "produced by Eminem" songs were ghostproduced as Eminem uses people who play the keys and different instruments and even most of the time people to program the drums etc. Matter of fact, you should also consider Dre not actually being a producer, but using ghost producers. It's the same as how Kanye uses other writers on his songs.
Jun 29, 2015 However I don't see how you can stamp Kanye as using ghostwriters, because that would put him in the same league with Dre and Diddy and s---. And that would just sound insane.
Jun 29, 2015 Who cares? There are tracks where Kanye writes it himself, and tracks where others contribute. There are tracks where he produces it all himself, and tracks where others contribute That's how making music works Why does writing have to be a solo effort and production doesn't?
Jun 29, 2015 Eminem obviously doesn't write the hooks If he hired a ghostwriter for his verses, he should really look for somebody else
Jun 29, 2015 for his own songs (like evil twin) or songs with premade hooks (like survival) latter is obvious
Jun 29, 2015 Obviously with the premade songs tbh As for his own songs, I think Resto helps him out a bit in some cases
Jun 29, 2015 would make sense since there resto has writing credits on some songs. they seem like a good back and forth team
Jun 29, 2015 i think what is trying to be said is that there is a fundamental difference between Kanye and Eminem's approaches to the creation process of the music. Eminem writes the entirety of his actual rapped verses. They are all lyrics he wrote down in his little note pads and random sheets of paper. Kanye, on the other hand, it sounds like he may employ other writers to enhance the overall product of the song, whether it be including their input on verses, choruses, melodies, bridges etc. This is a crucial difference between the two and speaks to the artistic integrity behind the actual rapped verses. Kanye seems to sacrifice some artistic integrity but in turn, this creates more palatable music when compared to Eminem's music (post-hiatus anyway). Eminem sacrifices the accessibility of his music for a higher degree of artistic integrity which also has its positives and negatives. The listener's relationship with the content in is verses is more intimate (different than personal) because it is the literal words of the person, Marshall Mathers. Kanye's music is more of a theatrical, cinematic experience which has its positives, but in turn, the listener isn't necessarily hearing the literal words of the person, Kanye West. These are fundamental differences between the two that can't be ignored when critiquing and evaluating the two artists. I am not saying one is better than the other; that is a subjective assertion that is irrelevant in this discussion. If it somehow turned out that Eminem employs other writers in the creation of his verses, that would be detrimental to his art because of the relationship he has established between his content and the listener. He would lose artistic integrity and appeal. One of the core reasons why Eminem has remained popular throughout the years is because the listener has been able to engage with his actual personal experience. This is a critical part of Eminem's artistry.
Jun 29, 2015 Luis Resto is mostly a good influence If he could fix Em's flow he would be a better one
