Kanye West if Kanye's new album is anywhere near MBDTF, he will be the greatest rapper of all time

tbh, it's usually your solo album collection. its like Eminem lol, people will only mention sslp, mmlp, tes, encore, relapse, recovery & mmlp2... nobody really considers infinite and his demos to be parts of his catalog.

Mixtapes do hold a lot of weight for these artists who fall in the "mixtapes > albums" category... Big Krit is the first to come to my mind.

That's the point i wanted to take, if we take out technical stuff we are taking out a huge part of what rap should care more about, along with flow, diversity and knowledge, Kanye's production is what really makes the albums, not the rhymes. The albums thing is debatable and you know that, and Kanye will always have been working on a higher level because he is older, that's why i don't think we should make this statements with incomplete careers (look at the stans and ask them how that goes), OD and KLEP are not albums. To be fair, NO ONE can be the GOAT, the GOATS are a group, and Kanye as well as Em are in it.

You are correct, by definition that is technically a flawless catalogue. But we're talking the greatest discographies of all time here. 3 albums simply isn't enough to earn a place in that discussion. Let him add a couple more projects (and deliver with them) before prematurely bringing him to a table he doesn't belong sitting at yet.

Now as for OutKast on the other hand... Never dropped a bad project? Uh... Idlewild? What about the disappointment that was Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below? In there we witness a bundle of solo projects from both members of OutKast where neither were as good as they should've been. They have a great discography and made amazing music but it's far from flawless.

you're wrong. kanyes a great storyteller. he's a great at being emotive. he always know hows to express himself. he has a strong narrative.

how you put together your rhymes is NOT a "huge part" of rapping. how you execute the rhyhmes is.

And fine. Considering just s80 GKMC and TPAB.

    s80 - 8.5/10
    GKMC - 8.8/10
    TPAB - 8.3/10

    TCD - 8.5/10
    LR - 8.8/10
    Graduation - 8/10
    808s - 8.3/10
    MBDTF - 9.5/10
    Yeezus - 8.8/10

these are rough, but yeah, graduation might be the worst out of all of them. but its 8.2 vs 8.65. Kendrick shouldnt be in the same discussion as kanye

you're right about kendrick, it was just me being a fan and saying he could get there if he keeps dropping albums on that level.

As for outkast, yeah i'd agree with idlewild not being that great, I give you that, but Speakerboxxx/The Love Below usually is praised as a classic, and the love below is basically the non rap version of take care, done better.

Stop it. I love both artists, I'm also a bigger kanye than Kendrick fan but there's no 8.65 vs 8.2, thats just you giving scores based on absolutely nothing.

Nobody is gonna have the same ratings so that's pretty much pointless.

    The Eminem Show > MMLP > MBDTF > SSLP = 808s > CD > LR > Graduation = Recovery > MMLP2 > Yeezus > Encore > Relapse

idk if the new one can top the first two in this list but if it can top MBDTF, I'll be extremely pleased. still skeptical since Real Friends is the only song form the album that dropped so far that I'm really digging. All Day was cool but the rest was meh (minus wolves of course but I need that HQ)

and yes I know yeezus is very low in this list but as I've always said, I've never been able to get into it. just a personal opinion.

    Graduation - 6.5/10
    808s - 8/10

well the point of doing these isnt for every to state their numbers and sit on their laurels. its to state the numbers then discuss where we differ

for example, your rating of yeezus and graduation are ridiculous

still stand by the fact though that there is no GOAT, because of how different every artist can be and how sounds change and evolve. we'll never know who the greatest to ever do it is in a genre that is evolving constantly.

because I like it more? I think the production is better and I feel like kendrick was a better lyricist on it.

I just personally don't feel MBDTF is better than those two. If you do, that's cool. I mean, I'm not judging lol

tbh it's hard to even rank them with how different they are.
