Okay so then u agree that saying Kendrick is in the same convo as biggie is dumb because we haven't had enough time to see his influence and other aspects of his career pan out?

no one would really dispute this too harshly, because nas has like three to five classics and has been rapping at a remarkably high level for almost twenty-five years. putting him in a conversation with big isn't ridiculous. doing it with kendrick is.Ordinary Joel, Michael Myers and gorealsteady like this. -

you've literally, explicitly said that, though.
i don't know if you're appreciating just how great big's albums are. it's not just "oh they did will and died before they f----- up"; no one has ever, at any point made such great rap records consecutively. not Illmatic-It Was Written, not All Eyez On Me-Makaveli, not Low End Theory-Midnight Marauders, not Amerikkka's Most-Death Certificate. they're absolute masterpieces the likes of which we've seen a handful of times in the genre's history.
nas is as respected as big and pac. he's a consensus top ten rapper.Ordinary Joel, Michael Myers and gorealsteady like this.Jan 6, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up) -

i know you champion life after death, but i think ur spidey sense is off. its a bit bogged down by its commercial, mid to late 90s pop instincts, and nowhere near the artistic achievement of ready to die. turn off the nostalgia blinders pls
also, again knowing ur entrenched pov here this is almost moot, but ur way off on ur characterization of tpab. granted its likely the worst of the four albums, but its not the punchline u describe. not sure its rly fair to compare it to either big album, as both have enjoyed the luxury of aging and carry alot of weight that are incidental to the albums themselvesOrdinary Joel, ozy and Narsh like this. -

But when I get on this forum and n----s telling me he is borderline top 3, while discrediting BIG?

If either of Big's albums dropped today they would no doubt be better than anything anyone else is capable of putting out. People attach weight to him because he was a once in a lifetime talent who dropped projects that stood the test of time, 20 or so years to be exact.Ordinary Joel, WPG and Big Dangerous like this. -

I can understand if you argue that TPAB and GKMC are better--sure, all good albums being discussed, that's fine if you feel that way....but to say that you don't see how people could argue that they aren't?

you were literally just arguing that kendrick should rank above rappers who had a better set of two albums because he had more music. make up your mind.
no one's asking you to "stan" anybody--in fact, i'm arguing the opposite. you guys are elevating kendrick based on two things: your feverish belief in his potential and your shallow knowledge of rap history. i know that sounds pedantic, but it doesn't sound like you're familiar with all that much that was made before 2005.Narsh, Ordinary Joel and Deadpool like this.Jan 6, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up) -

the only times kendrick outshined his competition post-gkmc were "control" and that fredo santana song. you guys are unquestioning kendrick stans who prop up every verse he does, when the reality is that he's been slipping since 2013. he's a tremendous artist, but putting him in the top 50 rappers of all time would be embarrassingly premature, and you're arguing for the top spot? chill.Jan 6, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up) -
