the only times kendrick outshined his competition post-gkmc were "control" and that fredo santana song. you guys are unquestioning kendrick stans who prop up every verse he does, when the reality is that he's been slipping since 2013. he's a tremendous artist, but putting him in the top 50 rappers of all time would be embarrassingly premature, and you're arguing for the top spot? chill.

    which rappers?

do you...really not know this? by the time pac was kendrick's age circa good kid, he'd finished five albums, including one double disc, and recorded hundreds and hundreds of other songs that would later come out.

i think your forgetting the point of the thread, IF he died would he be GOAT. meaning if he died all his stuff plus his potential equal his position, which is the same with tupac and biggie, they dont have the best discog in the world, but their potential was huge

I prefer quality over quantity but that's another issue as well.

no one with a firm grasp on music is rating pac or big highly because of their potential--they're doing it based on the quality of each rapper's work. big had two masterpieces of such staggering quality that they make good kid feel slight, never mind kendrick's middling sophomore album.

just because everyone says pac and biggie are GOAT, dosent mean i have to stan them, they both died when i was 1 or 2, they were abit before my time

you were literally just arguing that kendrick should rank above rappers who had a better set of two albums because he had more music. make up your mind.
no one's asking you to "stan" anybody--in fact, i'm arguing the opposite. you guys are elevating kendrick based on two things: your feverish belief in his potential and your shallow knowledge of rap history. i know that sounds pedantic, but it doesn't sound like you're familiar with all that much that was made before 2005.

how you feel about kendrick, i feel about biggie and pac.
they arent relevant to me, all the issues they talk about are relevant to people much older than me

    Uh...

    What?

Certainly I don't have to explain to you the difference between a feature and your own music.

ugh. that's not how i feel about kendrick at all. also, the notion that biggie's music or tupac's music is dated to any extent, much less to the point of irrelevance, is ridiculous. how many songs can you name from Strictly without googling?

i am familiar with loads of artists and albums before 2005, but you can dwell on the past forever, i bet your one of those people that think music past the 2000's is all garbage and music was better when i was growing up

are you trolling? are you reading this poorly on purpose? you just said that kendrick should be ranked ahead of rappers who had two albums as good or better than his first two because he also had good features and loosies. then you turned around and said that you care about quality, not quantity (as if i'm arguing the opposite point.)

kendrick made a masterpiece, and one middling album. (section 80 is also very good.) there are, like i said, dozens of rappers whose first two records were collectively as good or better than kendrick's first two. h---, biggie and ghostface (and redman and nas etc) opened with two masterpieces each. h---, take the other hottest rapper of the moment: i'd take Pluto and Honest over good kid and Butterfly any day, even if good kid is the best of the four albums. i don't think you realize how crowded the all-time list is in the top 100.

you obviously haven't read anything i've written or seen my posts on this forum. that's zero percent me. but you have to have a thorough knowledge of rap dating back a couple decades to seriously argue that someone who just put out his second album is the greatest rapper to ever live.

we dont have to agree on anything, but we can agree that kendrick is the best rapper ATM, i dont mean in the past i mean recently.

YOU might think some other albums are better but the majority dont

you were arguing all time, not "at the moment." even at that, he wouldn't be in the top ten for the past 24 months.

You said the volume of great work that these other rappers have put out...

That tells me you are referring to THEIR entire discography. I don't believe features count in an artists discography.

    I may be mistaken.

    Settle down btw.
