Nov 22, 2015 Why do people think that the current trends are what you need to follow in order to be successful? Old Eminem made better music, he would outsell and dominate current Eminem. People still love controversy, it could even be said that current fans are waiting for it. Look how popular a mediocre beef like Meek/Drake was. The music scene is constantly changing. Old Eminem changed the music scene when he entered in 99/00, and he absolutely dominated at the time. He was popular during the time period of Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Nelly, and other "safe" artists. Sure, there was a lot of great artists too, but the acts that dominated the mainstream were arguably more bland, corny, and "pop" than today's music.
