Jul 10, 2015 I would say of Obie Trice, who put out 2 great albums on shady but he somehow totally disappeared after leaving the label. He was dope enough to get another deal and be somewhat successful but for whatever reason that never happened
Jul 10, 2015 Hard question tbh because people like Kendrick who are inspired by Em may have become famous but for all we know, his style could've been totally different... a totally different Kendrick. So in a sense, there'd still BE a Kendrick Lamar, but a different Kendrick Lamar hope I'm making sense
Jul 10, 2015 without Em though whether you wanna believe it or not there'd be no rap basement, no SL, and lastly no S80
Jul 10, 2015 If there was no Eminem, there will be no .... harry phresh, 18 year old r&b rapper from toronto, he cited eminem as one of the main influences for his song "hand 2 heart (love 4 you)" and also sampled him in "i will k--- you b----". he's still waiting to get signed to a major label, which shouldn't be hard because of his hard trap beats and futuristic style
Jul 10, 2015 Theres no way of answering this question completely. Theres countless artists who are influenced by Eminem. And then those same artists are influenced by Tupac, Nas, Big L, etc. How many artist can we say are a direct result of other artists.
Jul 10, 2015 Hopsin doesn't compromise his style or how he does his business. I think Em would be proud of how Hopsin handles himself and his career.
Jul 10, 2015 I don't understand this thread. Just seems like you are trying to come off too anti-stan, @Koolo. We could never know this. It's too subjective. Many rappers have many different influences. I'm sure a ton of famous rappers today were heavily influenced by Eminem, more than you would realize or that have even said they were. Just because no one prominent is directly stemmed from Eminem (ala 50 Cent), doesn't mean you can say without Eminem there would still be <insert rapper here>. Eminem is probably to thank for more of the popular rappers from the past decade than most people.
Jul 10, 2015 Proof might not have been famous but he was good and Em was proud of him. @Koolo Also maybe stat quo?
Jul 10, 2015 Proof. Probably never would have been able to record his album without having put the D12 album out first. And the D12 album wouldn't have happened/been as successful without Eminem. Proofs albums are great btw.
Jul 10, 2015 There'll be no Stan, and if there was no Stan then that means one of the greatest hip hop songs wouldn't have existed.
Jul 10, 2015 obie trice is about the only thing to be proud of... he took a complete nobody from outta nowhere and went double platinum debut. maybe skylar grey but she aint had much success on her own. or Paul Rosenberg.. but i assume your talking artist? Tony Yayo would have never been s--- with out the FREE YAYO shirt and Drama Setter Single
Jul 10, 2015 50 cent, sure he would have still been signed, but we wouldn't have Get Rich or Die Trying or The Massacre and he wouldn't have blown up like he did. His popularity at the time was insane and it wouldn't have happened if Dre and Eminem didn't back him, which leads to G Unit as well. Also Obie Trice, he fell the f--- off but Cheers was a critically acclaimed multiplatinum selling album.
