May 22, 2015 I'm a huge Eminem fan and I can admit he hasn't been improving. (Improving depending on what you mean by that.) He doesn't know how to make timeless music anymore. His technical writing rhyming abilities are on another level though… un-matched without a doubt. So he has improved in that sense for sure. I still like his new music, but I know it's not good, if that makes sense.
May 22, 2015 Yes, it's good. But when you factor in what real music is and how it should make you feel, I don't feel anything from it. That's how I know. It's fun to listen to but I want my music to make me feel a certain way.
May 22, 2015 agreed. Some songs are actually really d--- good. Fine Line and the second verse of GOF are good. Legacy I also really like. But it seems he just loses his mind and spits out an iffy line in what is otherwise a good song. Like the pigs line in Legacy. Or the "s---" line in BadGuy. He was consistently the best rapper alive from 99-02. after that he just became average-good. Edit: And sometimes he puts out s--- that is just straight up garbage.
May 23, 2015 kind of a cop-out. there's so much more to consider beyond his solo albums: features, 8 Mile, Devil's Night, Straight from the Lab, non-album songs like Bad Influence, diss tracks. even his last four albums have their share of gems
May 23, 2015 He had one of the worst run of features I've ever witness just a year or two ago It all comes to down the fact that he's been mediocre to just plain bad for twice as long as he was flawless
