    TI for 99% of his content uses slang to sound cooler
    but in interviews which hardly anyone sees you can actually see he's dumbed himself down in tracks to seem cooler

    i didn't mean if you use those terms you actually become less intelligent lol

    you generally are PC though, like you like to please as big of a group as possible, nothing wrong with that man, it's okay to be more passive

    But when rappers also talk dumb in interviews is it also to sound cool or are they actually like that?

    I mean when I watch a jay interview u can clearly see he is an intelligent man, same as TI, kendrick and others but I sometimes see them talk like 'yeah yeah u know what I'm saying' after every sentence

    Using slang in a song =/= dumbing it down though.

    Just because he's not as eloquent in songs as he is in interviews doesn't mean that when he talks in slang that it's dumbing things down. Different forms of media as well, you wouldn't expect perfect articulation in songs now would you?

    It's like a formal and informal setting.
    That goes for everyone, we wouldn't say half the s--- we say in front of our own parents.

    we're literally agreeing on the same thing but wording it in different ways

    i agree slang terms if they have meaning comes with the art-form of hip-hop

    i'm taking about the idea that to be 'educated' in hip hop is 'uncool', and the bars that artists write that have no meaning behind apart from sounding 'uneducated' (again using these terms very loosely)
