Oct 6, 2015 It's unbelievable how he got out of that drugged out period alive anyway, it's amazing he's this good today. He's more complex technically today, but there's such a thing as too much of it. But I think he feels like he's said everything that needs to be said, so he's playing.
Oct 6, 2015 @Immy entirely agree with you in terms of technical skill. A lot of people on this forum are quick to disregard it but I bet it's a lot easier to write most of his older s--- than it is his newer stuff. His complexity has reached a whole new level.. But obviously as a total package he's not even close to what he once was. Flow, content, sonic ability, etc. have all plummeted. But in pure technical skill he's taken it well above and beyond any rapper I've ever heard.
Oct 6, 2015 RAPPER, as in RAP RAPPER, id say theyre equal. I think his bars used to be slightly more clever (see his "three beats freestyle"), and his bars now are slightly more dynamic (see Shady Cxvpher"). But as a musician and the context of music its clear hes not in the same league as his old self. But some tracks since 2013 to now have really been f---ing with his old self.
